Another feature of the "NEVER pay $500" Oppo is that you can make .iso copies of your BDs to a hard drive and just plug that in to the Oppo. That won't help your java problem though. Instead of isos you can burn them other ways that may allow you to do some of the things you're looking for, but I'm not an expert in that stuff. It certainly would be cheaper to get a large hard drive than to keep buying BD-R discs.

To other Oppo owners, that gives a sense that you appreciate a well made machine
But, that was $150, not $500. Huge difference especially considering all the price drops now.

Regarding BD movie size, when a dula layer disc was mentioned, I never price them (didn't know they were available since I don't have a BD burner. My first and only though wqs just use two single layer discs as I have done for years with DVD's.

BUT, I then though of this Java problem. Can I assume that won't work since this silly app has to be re-loaded (assuming the movie is a Java version) if the 1st disc were removed? Or could the app be included (again) in the 2nd disc?
