Oh, don't get me wrong, it's perfectly enjoyable film. I just can't see myself revisiting it that often. If I get the itch to watch a "wrong man on the run" film I'll just watch The 39 Steps, Foreign Correspondent, or North by Northwest instead.

Agreed. I also passed. There will be a no-brainer price coming down the road at some point and for me, this price ain't it.

If it hits like $75-$80 I'd probably give in. I think if I wait a while longer that price may happen. I'm really not in a huge rush to get the set anyways.

Wasn't that the same set as the UK box set? I got that for a lot less -- $64.91 shipped in January.

The UK set is currently $43 and change on Amazon UK. It doesn't include North By Northwest and I think some of the mono tracks (Vertigo, for example) are missing, but otherwise the contents are the same as the US set and it is region free.

A quick check of Amazon UK shows it at (edited) 51.99 Pounds Sterling which makes it around $87.82

Amazon UK apparently doesn't have it in stock at the moment, so a search leads you to a 3rd party seller. However, if you click on other offers, you'll see that Amazon's price is £27.80. Minus VAT and plus shipping it comes out to $43.88. It just won't ship right away.

I got the UK set back in 2012 for L83. Looks like I got the Universal set at the same time for L30 and haven't placed an order there since.

Nice catch! Plus I mucked up that it was in pounds not euros. At $44 ... that's more like it.

 NICE! Thanks Rocket. I almost bought this set for 60 bucks last month, but 43 bucks is way better.

For those that are bummed North By Northwest is not included, there is a UK Warner Bros set that includes NBNW, Dial M For Murder, and Strangers on a Train for about 13 bucks shipped. Which.is great Since DMFM is always retailng at around 30 bucks by itself in the states since it has the 3D version.

This set would complement the Masterpiece set. Amazon UK knocks these prices on box sets out of the park. I'm a very happy guy.

Cohen Film Collection is releasing Jamaica Inn -- from a 4K restoration -- on May 12th.

Sorry to bump this but was just wondering if anyone's heard any news about any upcoming releases since Jamaica Inn came out last May?

Obligatory reminder that Warner Archive blu-rays are actual pressed blu-rays and not burn on demand like the dvds.

Very good news. Maybe this means that some of the other films from the old WB Hitchcock box set that haven't been upgraded yet will get blu-rays soon.

- Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1941)
- Suspicion (1941)
- Stage Fright (1950)
- I Confess (1953)

I know they're not the most well known Hitchcock films, but I particularly like "I Confess" more than a lot of his later Universal films.

It would be nice to finally get those films on BD.

I got The Wrong Man yesterday. The print is still far from perfect but looks a lot better than the DVD did. Definitely very watchable. Some shots look really good with nice textures on fabrics, etc.) others are fuzzy and dirty. Regardless, it appears they either did a new scan or did some cleaning up since the DVD.

It also includes the 20 minute Featurette and trailer that were on the previous DVD.

Thanks for the feedback. The film is important as it shared the truth about the validity of eyewitness accounts. When you hear reports such as the recent San Bernardino shootings, where potential victims thought there were three shooters when there were only two, reinforces what Hitch was trying to expose.

The print on the I Confess blu-ray is wonderful. I found myself just hypnotized by some of the lighting and composition.
