Then my next question is:
How do you keep track of which one actually has the discs in it? I'm sure it's kinda like me. I have over 2000 dvd/blus, and I keep them all alphabetized (except for my Criterions by spine), and I can easily tell almost exactly where anything is without really searching for it. And I have my collection organized by studio. I'll take a sample pic later today. |

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
Went to a closing Blockbuster store tonight and found a Casino Royale with slipcover for $10. I'll probably be putting that up on ebay at some point. I also got a District 9 Blu with slipcover. Anyone know if that's rare or not? I don't remember seeing a slipcover on that one anytime I've seen it in a store before but also don't really remember seeing the title when reading about rare slips. Only paid $5 for it and bought it mostly for myself but if it's worth anything I won't mind parting with it.

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
There are two different District 9 slipcovers in the US. Which one are you referring to??

Anyway, District 9 is not rare by any means, but it's becoming hard to find since it's been out for so long. Almost all older slipcovers are technically hard to find, just because the slipcovers have been out of print since the first run in most cases. Even Casino Royale isn't "RARE" as it was mass produced, but it is hard to find, for sure. |

The other one is an ugly black and purple slip that's part of the Sony Essentials line. All of the slips have a picture of the Blu-ray case on the front, with the cover art included. There are 29 or 30 of them I believe, all Sony films. I own several, but only for films that don't already have U.S. slipcovers. They're a last resort.

Come on Kory. They don't look that bad. http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/...l/100_3889.jpg The front covers though are just a poor design. But with that said, I'll take an ugly slip over no slip any day! I just got myself a copy of the godawful Canadian Awards slipcover for "The Assassination of Jesse James." |

The spines DO look nice, I'll give them that. I didn't even realize the spines were like that for the longest time, since I only looked at the side that would be facing outwards, and not the inner spine. All of mine are flipped like yours with the inner spine facing outwards.

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
So for those "obsessed" with slipcovers, do you buy movies just because they have slips? I don't mean to belittle or anything, but Beowulf?

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
PT Barnum would love these guys

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
"Beowulf" was awesome.

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
So are "Ghos" and "Face/O". And Eddie Murph is a great actor.

Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
I would not want that censored Untouchables cover in my collection.
|
Re: these people are obsessed with slipcovers
Meh. Some people are obsessed with slipcovers, others are obsessed with saving a buck on a BD. I look at both types equally, whatever floats your boat I guess.

Ah, kind of like they removed a cigarette from Paul Newman's mouth on the back cover of The Hustler DVD. What was funny is 1. you can see the silhouette of the cigarette and 2. the inset picture (of the menu) is unaltered.

I'm sure he'll get around to removing the price stickers eventually. ;) TLK  |
