Quality over quantity, perhaps?
I don’t know about for the other “500+ 3D” folks here, but there are many titles in my unwatched stacks that won’t be permanent. Once I’ve watched them all, I’m betting I could whittle the collection down to 200-300 essentials. |
Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
When is the foreign version of The Bad Guys 3D coming out again?
|
Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
You can order all 3 right now for $82.84 at Random Space...IGM.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
They’re supposed to start sending those out this month. Gotta finally catch up on the Despicable Me movies.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
I think we talked about this but I forgot. How’s the 3D in Friday the 13th: Part 3?
|
Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
100% better than the anaglyph! Do an A/B and you'll see.
|
Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
I don’t have anaglyph glasses, but the other, I don’t even know what you call it has very good pop out and depth in some places.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
So, Black Panther:Wakanda Forever[\color], while still a not great movie has a decent 3D. Noticeable pop, some good depth. The undersea was terrible bc it was so dark. Nothing like the color in Aquaman. But, I did see the movie in a different light and liked it a little bit more. But, I don’t think the 3D was the cause necessarily. I barely remember 3D all together sometimes. Which I know is a bad thing. But, less distraction and just focused. Saw it all in one sitting and that’s hard for me nowadays.

Another Kickstarter 3D:
Nightmare Castle By the same guy that did Crime Squad kickstarter. And if you missed out on Crime Squad and wanted it, it's included in one of the Pledges. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...barbara-steele Stereoscopic 3D lovers, Barbara Steele fanatics and Gothic horror aficionados... We are super-excited to announce the launch of our Kickstarter project for the release of "Nightmare Castle 3D" on 3D Blu-ray. This iconic gothic horror film, first released in 1965, is a classic that has captured the imaginations of viewers for decades. Starring Barbara Steele, Paul Muller &, Helga Liné "Nightmare Castle 3D" tells the tale of a woman and her lover, tortured and killed by her sadistic husband. Of course he didn't foresee that the pair would return from the grave to seek vengeance. "Nightmare Castle" aka "The Night of The Doomed" has now been remastered to 3D for the first time, bringing a new dimension of terror and excitement to this already chilling tale. Using the latest AI technology we have used a dozen AI engines in producing this AI enhanced 3D blu-ray package - from film upscaling & depth mapping, right through to the final product packaging, AI has been at the core of this project. In fact AI wrote the first draft of this introduction! We have put in countless hours of work to convert this film, using the latest technology and techniques to ensure that we get the best we can from our new AI tools. With the release of "Nightmare Castle" on 3D Blu-ray, we are giving horror fans the opportunity to experience this classic film in a whole new way. |
Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Not sure if I can get behind funding a conversion when there's still a lot of unreleased movies that were actually shot in 3D. I think conversions also added to the general confusion of the 'mass market' that didn't buy into 3D.

GREAT news! Bob was really bummed about the 2D Olive release of that, as he personally knew and worked for Jerry Lewis. I had noticed we got a review copy of that in but nobody wanted it.

Yeah, mine seemed to ship from CT. I’m in NY. Probably get it Monday. Can’t wait to see what it looks like. I hope the colors pop, oooh I like when colors pop.
And, for some reason it lists Amazon as the shipping partner. Don’t know what that’s about. |

Bob Furmanek on MONEY FROM HOME. Sounds extremely promising  :

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Got The Bad Guys today. Can’t wait till the weekend. Anyone find a review of this one if it’s out there, that is?

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Random Space is aware of the problem with Sing 2 and won’t be shipping any more copies for the time being. Too bad Universal didn’t seem to be aware of the 3D completely missing from their first release.

I have Resident Evil Damnation, but might add more to the order (if they ship to US). I saw it in 3D in the theater and thought it looked pretty good. |

So, what's the deal with Amazon JP nowadays? You can only get shipped to US if you pre-order now? Do they honor any price drops after you pre-order? Or do you have to cancel/re-order?

Ralph Breaks the Internet also came out in Japan, that’s the only Japan-exclusive 3D title I know of. Things there are generally more expensive, I have far more Blu-rays from Europe. I think the 3D version of Terminator 2 is available from Japan and it’s coded for Region A like the US, but I got it cheaper from Europe as a Region B disc as I can still play those.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Of course, I had to get it even if it wasn’t so great. Can’t not have a 3D Marvel movie. I think I have most if not all.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
The Bad Guys was ok on 3D. Still a great movie, but not a great conversion. Many scenes were ripe for 3D popout, and only little was seen. Some good depth.
