Interestingly, I could add it to my cart and get all the way to the "Buy Now" button in Checkout, so maybe they aren't checking yet? There's a chance the orders could be cancelled though.

My copy of that is still on the way. If I like the movie enough I’ll track down one with proper English.

Yep, for a company that seems to care so much about its 'image', they certainly irritate their customers a lot. I have all the upcoming 3D titles pre-ordered from Zavvi, never had a problem with them. I just got Ralph Breaks the Internet from Japan, the only place it came out. It's a bit pricey and comes with a (worthless- ha!) 4K (2D) disc, but I loved the first movie and had to have this any way I could.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get Ralph Breaks and how much did you pay? Also, is it region free?
Were you around in the laserdisc days when Disney routinely delayed releases by a few months to a year, or sometimes didn't put them out on the format at all? They gave the reason as laserdiscs not having Macrovision and so could be easily copied; VHS tapes had Macrovision of course so no problem for them there. Never mind the law-abiding people who just wanted to give them money for the best possible format to enjoy their material. ...

FWIW, I was able to order both Avengers: Endgame & Captain Marvel 3D from Amazon UK. I did this yesterday and so far there is no indication it is being canceled, I received an order confirmation email.

I got Ralph from Amazon Japan as that was the easiest to deal with- their site has an English option at the top. Haven’t watched the disc yet, it’s marked Region A (which covers Japan and the US) but others have said it’s actually region free.
Have the 2nd Lego Movie on order from Amazon but seems like there’s a delay getting that in. I was a bit paranoid about the Warner 3D titles running out but that doesn’t seem to be a problem, you can even still get King Arthur right now.

Wow! You're right. I get the can't ship to the US for both Avengers End Game and Captain Marvel. That royally sucks. I just don't understand why they don't want us US folks buying 3D.

Just to add my two cents to this Captain Marvel 3D business, I can order it shipped to the USA or Canada with no problem. Definitely not seeing any issues. Mind you, I'm not ordering until it eventually makes its way in to a two-for deal in a year or so. Not sure I'd buy into the theory about collusion to prevent overseas sales just yet . . .

SO jazzed that this is coming to Blu. The 3D in this is off the wall (literally, I suppose!
); a constant barrage of thrusting weapons (some on fire!), limbs, breasts. Saw it at a Kung Fu Fridays here probably 15 years ago and was blown away by just how far "into the audience" the effects reached. And dammit they'd better use that artwork, too!

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Barely.
This was a martial arts picture from the 70's (consensus suggests it's a Hong Kong picture, but it feels more Taiwanese to me), cranked out for the lower- and working-class masses, utilizing novelty technology not in use there at the time, or earlier. Low-budget martial arts movies of the era weren't often out to win awards; they were out to keep things moving. And that's what this one does.
You can watch the whole film on YouTube. It's a shitty 2D VHS rip from what appears to be a TV broadcast. You can see where they chopped out the commercials. I haven't watched the whole YouTube version, but I assume the copious nudity is missing there. Certainly the opening mass rape sequence is gone. Nevertheless you can see quite clearly that "pop-outs" were a priority (plus the usual camera dollies to enhance depth effects, etc.). I'd never imply SHOGUN WOMEN is a classic — it's truly not — but it has plenty of obligatory training and battle scenes that allow for staffs, swords and fists to be thrust out of the screen. The print shown at Kung Fu Fridays all those years ago was quite good as I recall, so perhaps it found its way to the 3D Film Archive, who knows.
I'm skeptical of some online reviews of this film. I suspect many of them saw an anaglyph version (which I'm told does exist) or just extrapolated the 3D in their minds while watching that crummy TV print.
There's another 3D martial arts film from the same year and director called DYNASTY — which I likewise saw at Kung Fu Fridays from a solid print with great pop-outs — that is a far superior film to SHOGUN WOMEN, so I'm really hoping that the 3D Film Archive and Kino have their hands on that one as well.

Interestingly, IMDB says that DYNASTY was a Taiwan/Hong Kong co-production, and the first to use both 3D and Sensurround.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165742...ef_=tt_trv_trv
It seems like DYNASTY was first, but considering they were filmed the same year, and Mei Chun Chang seems to have directed a lot of Hong Kong/Taiwan co-productions, maybe REVENGE OF THE SHOGUN WOMEN is a co-production as well.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Could be co-productions, I suppose. There's always been some murkiness surrounding the parentage of these non-Shaw/Golden Harvest/Etc. pictures of the era, and it hasn't been helped by decades of internet reviews!
Taiwan had a modestly healthy industry of its own cranking this stuff out back then, and I think powerhouse Hong Kong distributors routinely picked up those shows for wider release than the homegrown distributors could probably give them, but I'm sure they helped fund the production in a lot of cases too. Which is probably why many online reviewers just assume all martial arts films of a certain vintage are automatically Hong Kong shows.
It's also worth noting that the majority of the cast of these films appeared only in Taiwanese shows filmed in Taiwan. The director is from there as well, and seems to have shot most or all of his pictures there. But it wouldn't surprise me if Hong Kong money was involved in some of them.
Despite the anemic cast list for SHOGUN WOMEN at IMDB, it shares most of its cast with DYNASTY. That, plus the common director, year, and employment of 3D suggest that they're either both Taiwanese productions or both Taiwanese-Hong Kong co-productions, presumably shot in tandem or back-to-back, but not one of each as IMDB categorizes them. HKMDB lists both as Taiwanese, but as I recall from my years there, HKMDB only allows you to set one country of origin for each film, something I tried to get them to fix for ages to no avail, as it makes it impossible to discover which films are co-productions between which countries, something much more common these days, particularly between Hong Kong and the mainland.
