Plus there is already a place holder for the Vol 2 3D steelbook for Best Buy. I know that doesn't necessarily guarantee anything, but it's a good bet that it's coming.

These are good points, and could change the equation, so my concern might be a bit premature.

I hope they include Dr. Strange in 3D in the next big Marvel boxset because that was what I was waiting on.

I've just started to buy them when they come out because it does seem like the end is approaching faster and faster these days.

Anyone here has an OLED tv? I'm thinking of splurging on the LG E6P before it's too late.

^ The only Disney 3D disc I heard about being region B locked is 'Ratatouille'

side comment: 'Zootopia' in the UK is known as 'Zootropolis'

How'd you get that early? That's not coming out for about 3 weeks (they have it in 2D on digital now, the new DIVX. Skull Island has been available in 3D on digital for a couple weeks.) Glad they're putting this out since they skipped Trolls.

Looks like Dreamworks / Fox also nixed the 3D blu of Captain Underpants (ugh... I'm kicking myself for missing it in the theater as such).

The Lego Batman Movie looks amazing in 3D. Watching this now and the depth and effects are marvelous. Was this shot natively or converted? Really good stuff. That narration of Batman during Logos had me smiling...

The term "shot natively" doesn't apply to computer animation. None of it was shot. But the character models are certainly 3D and can easily be displayed in either format.

Oh. Well, people were wondering and I was letting them know. I didn't know it didn't apply. Just meant to say looks really good in format and what a hoot of a movie. I'm like grinning ear to ear through this thing...

There is still a virtual camera in 3D computer animation. These days, all they have to do is add a 2nd virtual camera to get the stereoscopic image, so all 3D computer animated movies are "native" 3D, rather than post-converted.

Even older titles, like all the Pixar films, they can go back and re-render the 2nd camera angle. There are only a handful of older computer animated films that were post-converted, most notably the first 3 Shrek films.

Fun fact: Stop motion animated films (most notably, Laika's films), are native 3D, but only require 1 DSLR camera to shoot. Because they already use motion control for all camera moves, it's trivial for them to add a 3D slider which moves the single camera to both eye positions to take two pictures for each frame. I thought it looked like shit. I could hardly figure out why it was even in 3D. Felt like I wasted my money on it.

Gotta re-watch The Lego Movie on my new TV and then I'll watch Lego Batman. A little peeved that the 3D disc of that doesn't have Atmos but the 2D disc does, but even being equipped for it I can't put the speakers where they should be anyways.

That's how I know they're OOP, because those titles say "While Supplies Last" on DMC, which has always been on vault titles in the past.
