I don't think that UV has support for 3D or UHD copies at the moment, so UV codes only distinguish between SD or HD copies. Vudu seemed to have a deal in place with Sony to redeem some UV codes in 3D:

Also, some Walmart Instawatch titles redeemed in 3D:

matty, you just cost me $10.
When I saw how pretty the Steelbook (with no 3D copy, natch) was, I just decided to return the unopened 3D version to Amazon -- as an aside, what an ugly slipcover for a 3D release. But after reading what you said, I got a friend to take the set, minus only the 3D disc for $10. So for the other $10, I'll keep the 3D disc in the Steelbook and put the DVD in my wife's minivan DVD holder.

Secret Life of Pets looked real good in 3D. So vibrant and colorful. Very impressed.

I don't follow this thread so, if it hasn't been mentioned, It Came From Outer Space 2D/3D up for pre-order at Amazon. 9.99 Feb. release.

Just noticed Savant's recent news post, in which Bob Furmanek apparently announced several upcoming Paramount 3D restorations in conjunction with Kino after the SEPTEMBER STORM screening this weekend: JIVARO, SANGAREE, CEASE FIRE, FLIGHT TO TANGIER and -- the coolest reveal of all -- William Cameron Menzies' THE MAZE. Guess I better start saving . . .

Damn that is 3D in your face! I picked up a gorgeously preserved copy with slipcover at Zia Record Exchange here in Phoenix for under $7 last week. Thank you to whoever traded that sucker in!

Wondering how recently the people here have gotten their 3D TVs? I got mine in 2012, I am a bit alarmed at how few current models include 3D now. The separation on mine isn't perfect and I do want to get a better one when I can afford it; if my choice is only among 4 models then I guess those'll have to be it, I certainly won't ever go back to 2D! If they keep putting out these "niche" titles then I guess 3D still can't be doing TOO badly- of course I buy EVERY 3D title just to support the format (only ones I haven't bought include the Hobbit trilogy since they're in the wrong frame rate!)

I got mine in 2015, I believe. Sony. Love it and the format. I wish most 4K tvs came with it...

I upgraded my projector to a 3D capable one in 2014.
I would likely never have bothered had I not gotten a region free modded Oppo that included 3D as a feature. Suddenly it felt like 3D was actually do-able to me.
While the model of PJ I got had improvements to it's 3D performance over the previous ones, I missed what turned out to be an even bigger performance upgrade ( brighter, much less crosstalk) in the next model a year later.
Can't really afford it, but would love pick one up when they cut the prices on the remaining units right before the new 4K models roll in around next November/December.

Just got one over Black Friday, an LG OLED55E6P. I've been wanting a passive 3D set for a while now, and the mix of 3D, 4K, HDR, and OLED that I could afford tipped me over the edge.
I think 3D is still doing well in theaters, and so the 3D Blu-ray is often a situation of "why not?" for the studios since the 3D version already exists. Still, its not like the major studios are digging into their back catalog. Beowulf hasn't had a US 3D release.

Got my first passive 3D TV in 2011 & replaced it with an LG8500 a couple weeks ago. It's amazing the difference in passive 3D on a 4k set. I was never truly satisfied withe the experience before because it cut the resolution in half & was very noticeable on a 1080p TV. But cutting the 2160p resolution in half on this new TV still results in 1080p.
It's ironic that the technology was perfected just as most manufacturers dropped it.

Interesting responses- seems many are just getting into 3D. As I thought, the industry just expected 3D to take off too fast and too soon, they need to give it a LOT more time to grow. Anyways, I did my part yesterday by buying Suicide Squad in 3D at Target last night.

Although I got my projector in 2012, it replaced a 3D TV I bought in 2010... so I've been at this a while now. I wish more directors would fully utilize the added dimension, i.e., throw stuff at the audience or just break the screen plane. So many just utilize it for added depth into the screen, and I can tell my friends and family aren't impressed with that kind of 3D. Neither am I. Anyway, I suspect a lot of consumers have been disappointed with 3D TV's for this reason.

Currently have a 1080p, 70" Sony passive 3D set that's about 3 years old. Got it from Costco at a nice discount since it the last one and a display unit. Figure I'll have to replace it, sooner or later... probably sooner as the wive's had some gripes about it, although I think it looks fine.

I used this chart to figure out which LG TV I wanted.
https://images10.newegg.com/uploadfi...son%20Grid.pdf
I was looking at a 55UH8500 LED-LCD, and I showed it to my wife, and she asked "is that the one you want?" And then I said, "well, the one I really want is the OLED55E6P." So she said "so, get that."
