No he said the back cover was mislabeled where it stated it was a track with director Dominique Othenin-Girard and Author Justin Beahm when it was in fact Actor Don Shanks and Beahm.

Gotcha, thanks.

I found out the deal with the deleted footage 4. Apparently, AB was sent "some footage", but listed it as 30 min. of deleted scenes in the press release without ever really confirming what they had. Turns out there was nowhere near 30 min, and whatever they actually do have hasn't even been looked at. It may have just been outtakes and b-roll, nothing significant.

I smell another edition on the horizon....

I'll wait for the price dip.

Hopefully there'll be one to correct the borked audio. The director said in his audio commentary that there really weren't any deleted scenes of note, though, so I wouldn't expect a lot if that half hour of footage ever surfaces.

Always a smart move for an Anchor Bay release. I'd be shocked if these aren't $8-$12 by Halloween. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a two-pack for $15 or something by then either.

That's what I'm thinking as well. This isn't the Anchor Bay of old were we can expect reissues and rereleases out the wazoo, so I don't see a rerelease of theses with everything taken off. So I'm fine waiting a month or two and grabbing them cheap when they do drop down. At least 4, anyway...

Compare that with Shout's Scream Factory, most of the titles I've got pre-ordered from Shout themselves...

$8-$12 sounds good. I can see these dropping by Halloween...which is when I'd want to buy these anyway.

I'm assuming the commentary with director Othenin-Girard on 5 is entertaining - I saw him interviewed on a Gorgon Video Magazine and he looked and sounded completely insane.

Any ideas what the best price on these will be out of the gate? I'm tempted to get them now but no way am I dropping $20 a piece on these at this point in time.

I already have the Anchor Bay Special Edition DVDs and wouldn't mind a BD upgrade. But, I agree, I'm not paying $40 for 2 titles that are over 20 years old.

Cheapest price at the moment is $15.58 shipped from Deep Discount. I'm sure they'll drop to $14.99 or below at Amazon by Halloween.

there's also rumor that best buy will be doing another upgrade and save in october and they usually have horror titles in their ads around then.

That's not too bad. More in line with what I've paid for other catalog titles. Thanks for the heads-up...I'll keep an eye out and see if it gets better before the end of the week.

I hope that the price drops and then they tack on this deal. I have my copies of the DVDs lying around that I wouldn't mind trading in to save money on the Blu-ray, so hopefully those rumors are correct.

I also have the Halloween 4 and 5 Limited Edition tins, but I won't be giving those up.

Re: Halloween 4 and 5 - 8/21/12

Amazon has been dropping these the last couple of days. However, Walmart is apparently close to setting up new BD horror movie end caps and both of these are supposed to be $7.88. It's YMMV when it comes to catalog titles at Walmart. My stores have 2 different end caps, but they are all DVDs, except for Scream 4.

The Universal version of Halloween II is also included.

Since I'll never drop over $16/a piece on Amazon, I'll wait and see what my local Wally World does for a promo.

ohhh even though i wasn't impressed with THE WARD i'd actually pay $7.88 for it. carpenter's commentary is probably worth that....and there's a lot of hot tail in that flick.

Glad I waited on these. If my Walmart sets up the same endcap as the one pictured I'll gladly pick up both of these for $7.88 a piece.

Here's a better shot of 4/5. One member said their display was near the DVDs, but more in a general area. So these could show up anywhere if your store gets them in.

No horror Blu set-up at either of my local stores. Just regular dvd with the same titles that always end up on these racks.

Me too, I went to my local WalMart store to look for Halloween 4/5 today. They did have a small section of deals though. Friday the 13th Uncut . Which I already have. Anyway there is another Walmart down the road that I may check out this weekend. If they're there they will be mine.

Villa park (on 83) and Streamwood (on Barrington Rd).

I might try the Elk Grove one tomorrow if I can get out of work early.

Thanks, those are pretty far from me, not too far from my job but the opposite direction.
