Guess I'm in the severe minority here but I loved Lost World. JP3 is the one I can't stand to watch. Just bores me to tears.

Those were unadvertised packaging tweaks quietly issued with no fanfare. Do you consider it a double-dip when a studio puts a bunch of existing discs out with "I Love The 80's" slipcovers?[/QUOTE]

Err, they added in a DVD/DC Disc. A bit different from a slip cover...

I like all 3 movies. Sure number 3 isn't as good as the other two, but that's just to be expected. Very rarely are sequels as good as the other movies in the series. But part 3 does have some good points. Well, except for the obviously cgi dactyl at the end. On a whole, all the dinosaurs, except for the "live" puppet ones, didn't look all that real. Whereas in the first two movies, they looked very life-like. I think why most people don't like the second and third movies is that they didn't have all the characters that we liked from the first movie. The third one only had Alan and Ellie. But it was a good story.

Except for the anti-climactic ending, i liked 3. Three used some unused ideas originally set for 2 and no one bothered to think up a more inspiring ending. When i get the box I'll watch 2 because it has a few good scenes and Julianne Moore who i like. But it will probably be a one and done

I'm going to dust off my DVD versions, the "Collectors Editon" with 1&2 and then the single CE3, and give them a go again. The CE Set is DD 5.1 while the CE3 does offer DTS. So far my upconversion from my Sony BRP does a excellent job. I'm not running a 7.1 system, just a 5.1. Both CE's offer a good deal of "Bonus features" as well. It be nice to see something like Extended Cut with extra footage, not just deleted scenes.

The only copy I have of the first is the one with the faulty DTS track. I hope that debacle doesn't repeat itself on BD. Lets just hope Universal doesn't pull a Fox (I wonder if they'll ever fix the BD release of Master and Commander).

My roommate loves all things dinosaurs and adores the first two Jurassic Park movies. I just pre-ordered the LE for his birthday. The best part is I can then watch the first and third on Blu-ray as well.

So it looks like just about everything from the previous dvd releases are also included as extras on blu. Hoping to trade these in for a few bucks before the release date.

I hope these movies look better than the preview of them on the recently released Scarface. If that promo was to hype us up for the BD release then color me extremely disappointed.

I've just been giving mine to my parents or in-laws. They are worth so little it's not worth the time of getting an envelope to mail them out

Anyone watch these recently? I have not seen them in years I just wonder if they still hold up effects wise...

A lot of the daytime CG shots in JP1 have aged horribly.

TLW is easily the best of the three in terms of effect work consistency.

I think because of the age the effects started showing their age rather quickly. I still love the flick though and am looking forward to it. I haven't seen this movie in ages, I guess I was kind of waiting for the Blu-rays

I don't know about that. For the most part, the effects still look incredibly life-like. Especially the T-rex in the storm and at the very end.

That's because 90% of the effects are old fashioned practical creature effects. There's not that much CG in the first film.

IGN unboxing video of the limited edition set:

Limited Edition unboxing

The digital copies are via download code, so no extra discs inside.

well that was a boring video. I'll get the non statue set at some point.

I'll pick up the Jurassic Park single release whenever it comes out. Considering BTTF still has yet to be released individually, it is probably going to be awhile.

Best thing about the video is seeing Ariana Richards... looking good :D

sadly she was only a 1/4 of that screen.

I'm sorry but how pathetic is your life if you get excited about some fugly chick telling you the box is shiney and comes with this crappy toy. I'm not sure who the target audience is but I'm guessing they're not yet teens. I clicked on it to see Ariana Richards, who is hot now by the way, but the rest? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Still sticking with the $50 set. No interest in spending $30 for a statue.
