looks like they kept the original sound mix. We'll see as more review pop up.

At all stores, the normal version releases in October.

That's not correct. The film will be 2K digitally projected from an ingested hard drive, just like the digital projection in any cineplex, not broadcast via satellite like other Fathom events.

Am the only one who is having audio sync problems? The audio is off on the moving of the mouth by a split second on my blu ray disc...

I noticed this as well. I watched a little bit last night and noticed the audio delay right away. I was thinking a setting in my receiver might have been off or something. Guess not.

Audio issues? Great. I just bought it last night, so I'll have to throw this in to verify.

Did a PM @ Wally World for BB's $19.99 price. Never have I seen people so confused over seeing a weekly ad on a cell phone. Not doing that again.

Re: Scarface-September 6

After watching a little more of the movie today, it seems that the audio sync issue resolves itself as the movie goes on. It is most noticeable in the beginning, especially the opening interrogation scene.

I thought it looked great. Some of the wide shots seemed a bit soft, but other than that, I liked it. Skin tones are orange-y, but it feels like DePalma's choice. Whether it is or not, I don't fully know.

EVERY single version/release of this movie suffers from that red or "orange-y" issue in the image. So I'm inclined to believe that it was indeed a deliberate
choice on DePalma's part. Not sure why.

Re: Scarface-September 6

I purchased my copy of "Scarface: Limited Edition: SteelBook" from one of my local Best_Buy's and during playback at chapter 20/36 when 'Frank' goes down to his knee's my disc is freezing!
{Much like a bad chapter / level change on a DVD}
I can restart the disc at chapter 21/36 and the rest of the movie plays fine.
I noticed that the disc it's self I can see my hand through the artwork in many places.
I know that if this was a DVD then it would of missed a printing process / level?
This is the first "Blu-Ray" that I have ever had this trouble.
No visable damage to the playback surface.
Do I have a bad disc?
Do you think exchanging at the store will cure this trouble or is this a manufacturing or chapter change production error, that will take a new/corrected production run from Universal to fix?

The player is a Samsung BD-D5500/AZ. With the latest downloaded firmware:1015.5.

Re: Scarface-September 6

Does anyone know what features will be on the non-steelbook version that releases next month? I would imagine there are no cards, but I'm wondering about the 1932 film and other features. Thanks in advance for any info.

The movie doesn't completely freeze, but it does skip a bit during that part. My player is an Oppo Digital BDP-83 running the latest firmware from March 17, 2011.

Re: Scarface-September 6

Mine sort of moves very very slowly, comes out of it for a second and then does it again. If I skip chapter I have it again on the next chapter and FF or RW don't work. It's at the same spot on the disc though (I presume after the layer change?).

I haven't updated the firmware since I bought my player. I'll see if it works after I get the cable I need.

Re: Scarface-September 6

Got the steelbook at a Blockbuster that was closing. Very nice. I got it for $15 bucks cuz I know the girl at the register. Anyway at 2:25:42 the audio raises up and then a second later it goes back down to normal. Aside from some visual flaws inherent w/ the transfer..that's the only audio issue I've had. Anybody else have that issue? It's right at where Tony has his head on the window as they're taking him to find Gina. Weird.
