My biggest beef with the Last House on the Left is that the PQ seems "fuzzy." It's almost as I'm viewing the film out of a viewfinder on an editing bay. Look, I get the source material is 16mm and nearly forty years old, but 16mm should still match the resolution of Blu-ray if cared and treated for properly.
Poltergeist II looks and sounds amazing. I'd argue to state that it has better PQ and AQ than Warner's Poltergeist disc. |

I would assume Poltergeist II is the exception to the rule as Fox/MGM previously released it in Japan this past November alongside Poltergeist III (which I'm bummed out didn't see a release this past week as I prefer it over II).

Is anyone else having trouble getting to the extras? On both this as well as Leaving Las Vegas there is no main menu and no way to access the special features. Very frustrating.

Can't speak to the PQ yet but there's only the trailer. There also isn't a static main menu. It's like an old school Warner title. You pop in the disc and after the Fox Home Entertainment logo intro, the movie just starts. You have to use the pop-up menu button to get the menu for scene selection, audio/subtitles and the lone extra.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but when I called up Best Buy today to have them put a copy of Poltergeist II on hold, the woman told me that today is the last day that these titles will be $9.99, and that tomorrow they'll go back up to $16.99.

We need to delete My Soul To Take off the list as it'll just be an exclusive BD+DVD flipper disc. Same goes for the release of Skyline in a month.

Again, the list is meant to be for "windowed" releases that will eventually be available everywhere. Someone else can make a different list of permanent store exclusives. :)

I was really hoping some of those MGM titles coming out over the next few months would hit early at either Best Buy or Target. Anybody seen them out or heard anything? I'm guessing since you can pre-order on Amazon they won't be offering them but since Legally Blonde 2 is coming out maybe Legally Blonde will be exclusive to somewhere?
According to blu-ray.com today it seems Target is gettings an exclusive window on Maos Last Dancer on March 29th. |
