I've got my fingers crossed that we get a combo disc with the bare-bones DVD from 2000.

I was just wondering the other day when this was coming to Blu-Ray. I still have my MGM Special Edition copy from a couple of years ago when they were liquidating old MGM catalog titles.

Maybe Lynch will fog out Isabella Rossellini's muff.

HIS movies, HIS vision!
so whats your point?
If he wanted the movie to look that way, then thats his choice.
If he doesnt want people watching his movies on a Iphone then thats his right to voice that opinon as well.

If Lynch wants to be an enormous hypocrite, I suppose he has every right to be. Just as I have every right to point it out.

He's only an hypocrite if he says that lower spatial resolution is the reason that watching on a phone is problematic. I've never heard him say that.

How is he a hypocrite? Because he doesnt want people to watch his movies on a little 3 inch screen?
seriously just cause he chose to shoot a movie in a lesser resolution doesnt make him a hypocrite for saying that people shouldnt watch movies on a cell phone.

Its his artistic vision no matter how he chooses to shoot it, heck if he decided for his next project to purposely shoot a movie totally out of focus, and spoken entirely in gibberish thats his right, its his vision as a the artistic creator of HIS FILMS.

your right he hasnt, Lynch's argument is that you cant get the same emotional experience watching something on a little 3 inch cell phone screen that you do watching a movie on the big screen in a darkened theatre or on Televison.

chosing to film a movie in a lesser resolution is no different then chosing to shoot in Black and White (like he did for elephant man) or shooting in HD or for a photographer to decide to process his film at a full stop or two over or under the intended way it was supposed to be developed. Its an artistic choice, I am not sure why mr Z doesnt quite get that.

It seems like it did. People on bluray.com found copies in-store.

oh I'm sure it's in store, but there's no Walmart remotely near me and I don't feel like wasting gas just to drive out to one - I'd rather pay postage and handling the bluray is surprisingly on the cheap side so just a few extra bucks for them to send it to me is fine by me

The more important question is does it have any special features?

No, the feature has a running time of 2:39:29 with overture and intermission. But it's $10 and comes with with $5 of Vudu money.

Oh cool, I was wondering if it had the documentary since my DVD has NO special features!

Not a fan of Wal-Mart, so I wasn't going to make any special trip, but I ran an errand today that took me right by one, so I went in and picked up Madx4 World and Fish Called Wanda.

Mad World looks great! I'm pretty stoked on this release. The print is very clean, but not so much that it's scrubbed of it's grain. This is an HD transfer done right.

Wanda looks like shit. They didn't DNR it or anything, but they didn't do anything. Print damage galore, hazy, fuzzy, etc. Keep your dvd and skip this. Though it does have all the extras that were on the 2-disc region 2 dvd that weren't on the region 1.

Re: MGM Catalog Releases (Early 2011): Thelma & Louise, Blue Velvet, Rain Man, and mo

There was a Region 1 release of the Wanda special edition in 2006. But yeah, you're right, there's dirt and scratches everywhere, and everything looks flat. I'd say it's only worth it if you have the original non-anamorphic barebones DVD or don't own it yet. If you have the 2-disc SE DVD, it might not be worth it.

Did Ship to Store for Madx4 World to my local Wally. I can wait a week, no biggie. My dvd is barebones as well, so this will be a nice upgrade. Mine does have a neato slipcover though, does that count for something :)?
