So for the 5-disc set, you got it for 36?

$36.99, but yes. Would I have been better off buying the two releases separately? I had been operating under the assumption that the 5th disc had exclusive material, but I was mistaken.

Only if you want a DVD of the original Tron. (The 5-disc set has a cover with lenticular animation that I don't believe any of the other releases have, so if you're into that, that'd be a check in the 5-disc column.)

But it would have been cheaper to buy the two films individually from Target for $32 plus tax, correct?

All this TRON math is making my head hurt.

So the best deal isn't necessarily at Target anymore since we can't combine the $8 promo with the $5 coupon (in theory), correct?

I can get both at BB for $36.xx after their promo, coupons and my $5 RZ cert.

Or did I do that wrong?

The best deal is at Barnes & Noble(if you live close to a B&M). They have the 2 movie collection for $49.59 on their site. Print out the following coupon-

Coupon Value: Save 50% off a single item
http://images.barnesandnoble.com/pim...rcnt_37767.gif

Take it to the store and ask them to do a site to home order(the shipping will be free). Give them the coupon and your final price should be $24.79 plus tax. This is a YMMV situation because the coupon isn't supposed to work on pre-orders. However, there are many reported success stories in the B&N thread in the DVD Bargains forum. BTW, the coupon expires tomorrow.

If I read it right, Target is still cheaper since it's $40 ($19.xx ea) - $8 promo = $32.

I think it's a better deal to buy the 4-disc set if you care about a digital copy at all, and then you can try and sell the 3D Blu separately.

25+20=45-8=37.

I don't have a B&N around me, so I guess I'll be shopping at Target.

NoirFan, how exactly did you apply those coupons?

I emailed Amazon and asked them to apply the $5 coupon and the $8 promo. They took $8 off of my order total, and told me they'd give me a $5 refund once my order shipped.

Amazon has pm'd Target's prices for the 2-disc versions of each film and still offering the $8 off both deal.

My Amazon preorders just arrived

Now I'm expecting they owe me a "we refunded $10 to your card" email...

I still don't see where Amazon is offering the 8 dollars off if you buy both..?

EDIT: Oh, it's just for the 2 disc, and not the 4 disc... Shame, I want the 4 disc. Sure hope Target doesn't give me a problem when I try buying the 4 disc/2 disc set..

Target will absolutely give you $8 Off if you buy the 4-Disc Tron: Legacy and 2-Disc Tron: Classic. And you should have no problem using the $5 Target Coupon. The only thing that might be a problem is the $5 Tron: Legacy Coupon.

Where are there two different coupons? What $5 Target Coupon?

I went to their website as directed, and it just lead me to the $5 Tron: Legacy coupon.

Go to the Blu-ray bargains thread, there is a thread on the target coupon. Read it

Ahh I see. Well, worth a try!

So if we're lucky, we'll get the 4 disc set+2 disc tron set for 27+tax, I can dig that.

Now if only I could get the stupid DMR coupon to print. It keeps sending me to the install.

Or DVD copys.

So, to me...the 5 disc set, is appealing because I want BOTH films on Blu...but hate that I will be getting 3 extra discs that I will never touch.
Meh.
Sale the one's you don't want on ebay like every one else does. You mite be able to get $7 to $10 each so you get the others for next to nothing. That's what I would do but I don't like breaking up my set's.

Meh, got the collectors edition one with the data disc from Amazon, and of course it's broken, it doesn't light up. Guess I better watch it later today before I RMA it.

Re: TRON: LEGACY DVD/Blu Combo Pack >> 04/2011 (?)

Last month i setup reserves for Legacy and Classic at MovieStop. Used a 2 Blu-Ray for 1 promotion, netting me $25 credit for each reserve. Once they released their prices, I switched each reserve to the 5 Disc set ($35.00) for $10 each out of pocket.
