This one is a definite blind-buy for me, but not at 25.00! I'll wait to catch it on sale or used. I'm sure its a great film and I'm dying to see it, but at that price I'll wait.

It's been sitting in my pre-order since the day it got listed. Can't wait for it to arrive. I'll gladly hand over the money for it. And if one day we'll get an even more loaded edition I'll buy that as well. One of the most entertaining films I've seen this year and I don't care what anyone says.

I'm in the same boat. However, I think I'll buy it from Best Buy this week anyway. The price has from next week until January 31 to drop (holiday extended return policy), and I'm almost certain it will.

Is that already in effect? Damn. May need to cancel my Amazon order.

i hope the trivia track is as fun and detailed, noting all the VG references and stuff, like on Shaun DVD/Blu.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World >> 11/09/2010
I'm usually not so much a fan of subtitle trivia tracks, but the one on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World might have made me a convert. The production design throughout the movie is brilliant, and every scene is peppered with tiny Easter Eggs lurking in the background. My favorite thing about the trivia track is how it points all of that out. I never noticed the Guitar Wolf poster on the wall, the brand names on Sex Bob-ombs' amps, or promo-doll-thingies of the Katayanagi twins hanging up in the record store, f'r instance. If you miss some of the nods to different video games that are used as sound effects or snippets of music that are quoted/covered, the track spells all that out too. It's even revealed that the inspiration for one of Lucas Lee's most smugly delivered lines was something that the frontman of The Hives had actually told Edgar Wright. The pace of the trivia track does seem to ease up after a while, but there's still a fairly steady stream of great stuff throughout, and anything that gives a nod to the mighty Kirby Crackle is pretty much beyond criticism anyway. I'd recommend pairing this with one of the audio commentaries for maximum infotainment.

From my review:
now tell me- are the pop-ups intrusive at all, meaning they take some picture space or do they seamlessly work into the movie? i was very surprised on the Shaun Blu-ray that the pop-up track was very intrusive in a thick red that took up a lot of space. it was unlike the DVD version and i didn't like it at all.

It's not intrusive at all. I seem to remember that it's a straightahead subtitle stream...no fancy graphics or backgrounds or anything.

I've received a lot of good Blu-rays recently, but this is the only one that's made me giddy. The making of is good, the menus are awesome, and it's going to take me a while to get through all these features.

Goddammit - it's after 5 and UPS still hasn't dropped off my copy yet. The one thing I'm most anticipating just happens to be the one thing that wasn't waiting for me when I got home.

This garbage is what hurts the movie.

The guy likes the movie, but saying it's for hipsters is wrong and does nothing to sway skeptics. I have nothing but contempt for hipsters, but loved the movie. If anything it makes fun of them.

LOL. The review is actually quite complimentary. Ramona is quite hipster... cmon, she likes indy music... has brightly coloured hair and vintage clothes and wears roller blades and has a job with as little responsibility as possible. Total hipster. She was naturally attracted to Dirty Hipsters as her evil exes.
Scott Pilgrim and the rest of the band are just slackers. They just want to play to be "cool". They're more like nerds than anything trying to transcend their caste (as is said by Kim in SP: The Animation).
Cmon, I'm an expert. I live in Hipster-ville USA. LOL.

Haven't had a chance to hit Best Buy today but the movie has been hard to find at Frys or assorted BBs. Also decided to buy a (CD) copy of the sound track, and downloaded the score off of amazon. Good stuff.
