Ideally yes, but if we liked both Slave Leia and the Ewoks, we'd probably told we "still needed to marinate". :)

When I first saw this new "NOOOO!", I laughed thinking someone on YouTube was pulling my leg. Then I remembered the Hayden Force Ghost was equally ridiculous and that was true too. To add insult to injury, the whole thing just looks so amateurish.

And I would like to point out that when we saw the original scene for the first time (if we can remember that far back), it's obvious Vader is torn - but you still don't know what he's going to do. The first "No!" now kind of ruins some of that tension since you know exactly what he's thinking. I remember back in 1983 when he picked up the Emperor, people started applauding. It was because we were surprised Vader actually made the right decision!

Jones: I don't want to do this.
Lucas: I can't change your mind?
Jones: No!
Lucas: That's great, we got it. Thanks!
Jones: ...Nooooo!

This just made me cancel my Amazon pre-order. I think I have the OT HDTV rips on a flash drive a friend gave me somewhere. If I really want to watch these movies, I'll try to find it.

Normally, didn't care about the revisions as I was never a huge fan, but the "Nooooo" is just too dumb...will wait for the inevitable heavy price drop w/in the next year or 3 and spend my $85 in Amazon credit on Criterion blu-rays or something.

I'm surprised a video with that much attention to detail misspells "Tuscan" Raiders and "Spielburg" in the subtitles.

The video also can't seem to make up it's mind re: whether he was anticipating the Blu set or not, whether he liked the prequels or not etc. There was a lot of pretty lame filler at certain points where you could practically see the guy who made the clip struggling to fill the space.

Not one of the better Untergang clips by any stretch. When you're gonna warm over such a well-worn Internet meme like this you need to be a lot funnier than this attempt.

Off topic, this is the best downfall parody/hitler rant I've seen.

On topic, this last change is probably going to be the tipping point for me. When viewed as a 6 part story about the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker, this scene is the culmination of the prophesy, where the "chosen one" brings balance to the Force. It's not something that needs tinkered with. Vader's conflict is already clearly set up in the excellent scene where Luke surrenders and tries to turn his father back. It's the best scene in the movie, and one of the best in the entire series. Vader's already conflicted, no need to telegraph it.

I don't really care about digital dewbacks in the background, or inconsequential fluff like Jedi Rocks (Jabba's palace is pretty much crap anyhow), but changing the dramatic structure of the movie is just wrong. And if this is the one they release now, how many more are waiting in the wings?

I like that the outrage has gone mainstream and that will be the bigger story over whatever media blitz Fox has planned.

Agreed. Plus the guy who interjects in the middle should be disagreeing with Hitler, not reaffirming his beliefs.

In the end, the Star Wars saga is the rise and fall of George Lucas as a filmmaker and story teller

I'm am suprised too, but this could be a turning point for all these changes and how they are perceived. Before, the only people who complained about the changes were internet nerds like us, and it was sort of looked down upon by the mainstream and Saga fans.

This time, the mainstream and many Saga fans are just as pissed! I have several friends who love SW who dont get as mad about the changes that I do, but they are in shock at how bad the Vader NOOO is. They are more pissed then me because I have become used to this crap with each release.

In saying that, the BluRays will still sell like hotcakes because it is such a big base of fans (and there are just too many fans wont boycott this release), but this is the first time the mainstream is saying, "OK George, enough is enough with these changes!"

I know my boycotting this release probably wont make a difference to Lucasfilm, but if I honestly bought this piece of shit boxset, I would feel like I just got personaly shit on by Lucas as I was getting the receipt from the receptionist at BestBuy.
