I have Prime. I just added it to my cart and if I choose overnight delivery, I'd get it tomorrow. Strange that older pre-orders get bumped to next week. I'm just gonna go to Target first thing tomorrow and get it with some gift cards.

On another note: I'm really surprised more stores aren't doing a midnight opening for the release. I would imagine Wal-mart could do really well with this one at midnight since all of its stores are open 24 hours. Best Buy's really missing the boat.

I actually think that Bluray still hasn't reached the 'casual' consumer like DVD did early in its run. DVD came out in 1997, and by 2000 EVERYONE I know had a player, including people like my mom who maybe buys 1 or 2 movies a year. BluRay has been out since 2006? Out of those same people, me and another friend are the only ones who own a BluRay player. My brother and best friend are both big SW fans and dont own a Bluray player yet, so they wont be buying.

This is why I am suprised Lucas didn't wait longer to release the movies to Bluray so there is a bigger base of people who would own BluRay players. It took him 7 years to release the OT DVD's, I'm suprised he didn't wait that long for Bluray.

Funny as in strange. Or did you not know that use of the word existed?

Laughing as in the opposite of crying. Or have you not seen someone make a joke?

Does anyone here work at Best Buy? Will there be plenty of copies, that I can go in after work 4:30-5:00 to buy it? Will they price match Target's price?

I dont work at Bestbuy, but I buy all my BluRays/Videogames there. Whenever there is a big release, they usually have a huge shelf of that item as soon as you walk in with loads of copies.

I bought Madden 12 last week when it came out, and that is exactly what it had and it was the first thing I saw when i walked in. I was worried it would be sold out, but there were loads of copies. I think Star Wars would be the same.

Got my set about 1 1/2 hours ago. Packaging is actually pretty nice. The outer artwork looks good, and the inner artwork doesn't look as bad as the images I've seen.

I've been checking out the bonus features, the original trilogy disc specifically. I can see why they didn't port over the previous extras (but of course they should have). With what they did here there is some stuff from the DVD set. For instance there's a little featurette on R2D2 within the Tatooine section of Episode IV and it includes the same interview with Ben Burtt about the creation of Artoo's voice from some feature on the old set (maybe Empire of Dreams?). I'm guessing the majority of the old features will be covered in this set one way or another, plus a lot of new stuff. It seems really packed with bonus material.

Still there is no excuse for not including all the deleted scenes from the prequels. That is frustrating.

This is probably the dumbest question but i don't feel like reading the whole thread; Does the set have The Holiday Special as an Easter Egg? That would be awesome!

So far only the Boba Fett cartoon. I doubt any other part of it will make an appearance.

Yes it does. It's in the menu that also have the original Theatrical Presentations of the Original Trilogy.

Do I have to even put a winky face?

I don't have a Blu-Ray drive so I dont know if it still works but I remember using dvd drives to find hidden stuff on dvd fairly quickly, if anyone has one and wants to check.

I think all the SW DVD easter eggs for the prequels were in Title 3 - not the case here?

Got my set at midnight, and we immediately watched the final duel with Luke and Vader. The sabers really pop! Then the Nooooo scene came up. Honestly it wasn't as bad as the clips. With the surround thumping with the music and sound effects, it wasnt as loud as you expect. Still a pointless change, but didnt bother me as much.

My original plan and I hope to stick to this, but probably won't, is to watch all 6 films from start to finish tomorrow. First I'll check out some of the special features then get into the films. I can never make it through Episode II (I've seen it through all the way at least 3 times, but it's definitely my least favorite of the six)

Just got my shipping notice yesterday. Estimates that it'll be delivered Friday. Wasn't expecting that (I was expecting to get it next week at the earliest, since I just went with the Free Super Saver Shipping). We'll see if that actually happens...

For the first time since become a fan of SW in 1977, I'm sitting out a big release. I really thought I would cave once I saw the commercials and read some reviews, but suprisingly they didn't affect me. I am not mad anymore or angry towards Lucas, after seeing the NOOO change, I really thought it was just silly being a SW fan anymore. Silly is the word I describe this movie series these days, because it's sort of laughable what he has done to the OT movies, and the PT movies do nothing for me either. I realized that I would be shelling out 90+ dollars for 6 movies I don't even enjoy???? I finally came to the point where maybe I think its time that I move on from these beloved movies.

Oh well, maybe someday George will release the OOT fully remastered, as that is something I would pay top dollar for. But at this point, I'm not holding my breath!

Mine didn't. It came in one of those plastic cases and it's in absolutely perfect condition.

There are probably 7-8 Targets in my area. Only 1 of them doesn't use any sort of security device, even on box sets. However, I go to that Target this morning about 15 minutes after they open, and they have their SW cardboard display up at the front registers. It's filled with the lithographs, and the 2 separate trilogy sets. 0 complete sets. I had someone scan the bar code, and it said there are 39 in the store. So they call over to the Customer Service desk and ask where they might be. The CS replies that they have them back there and were told to pull them from the display.

The reason? They're back there putting the spider wraps on them. Ugh. Luckily they hadn't started doing that yet, so I got a mint copy. I told the lady back there that those devices ruin the box set if they're put on too tight, and she of course, gave me the blank "so what?" look.

I was wondering if somebody here could help me out.

I got the set last night, but due to compatibility problems with FOX's blu-ray this year and my player, I can't watch it yet until I either get a new player or RCA provides a new software update.

So, I was really curious if they fixed a problem from the Special Editions in the new Blu-Rays.

It's the scene before the Death Star run in A New Hope where Luke is talking with Biggs. During the scene R2 is being lifted into the X-Wing at a leisurely pace in the background. However, in order to hide a cut in the scene, they have someone walk across the frame. During the split second that the person walks across the frame, R2 suddenly jumps about 2 feet up from the time the person walks in front of him and the time you can see R2 again.

Did they somehow digitally correct this on the Blu-Rays or is he still yanked up suddenly during that split second?
