Yeah, me too. When I said Disney, I meant Disney, not Miramax or any of the subsidiaries.

I wasn't aware that Hollywood, Touchstone and Miramax were all releasing films under the Walt Disney Pictures banner now. Wow, Buena Vista must be going under some tough times.

They all follow under the Disney label. Are we going to play the semantic game?

But fine, go with WALT DISNEY PICTURES, it still holds true. Only kid films and animated films get a DVD, the rest get (at best) a DC. That's how all studios have been moving towards since parents need a push to get the Blu-ray that is generally only going to be watched by children. A bonus DVD is that push. We are not getting into non-kid films that include a DVD, and the first one of that kind (aside from Warner) was Avatar from Fox. And now look - Lionsgates first Blu-ray to include a DVD was announced only a few weeks after Avatar made it's huge debut on Blu-ray (with a bonus DVD).

Which one is a WALT DISNEY FILM that was Day and Date that included a DVD and was NOT A Kids/Animated film? Go through all 25 odd D&D releases from 2009/2010 and point them out please.

Ditto...

And I like the cover, too.

Has anyone ever gotten those BD Phone apps to work? I've tried on a few BDP Players and only one worked (for a few minutes).

What difference does it make when it comes to Disney? Disney is arguably the most famous movie studio in the whole world, and their bread and butter is kids and animated films. Some of the titles in question, like Up, probably rank among the highest-purchased BD titles.

I think it was Disney's early success including the DVD that motivated other studios to start including them. Avatar may have just assured that every title from now on is going to do it (was there even a stand-alone DVD release of Avatar or only the combo?) but I don't think we can chalk it entirely up to Avatar without giving props to Disney (I mean, I'm all about the DVD vs. Digital Copy, or at least the DVD/Digital Copy Disc, and I didn't even buy Avatar).

I dug this movie, though I did think it was slightly underwhelming based on all the pre-release hype I'd been reading. Still, I'll likely pick up this set. FWIW, I dig the cover art.

I read in Home Media Magazine last year, that Disney was phasing out the Buena Vista banner and would use the Walt Disney Pictures in most of their movie releases. It was just for branding purposes, not anything to do with Buena Vista going through tough times.

Looking forward to it. Had a great time at the theater with this one.

Wouldn't at all be surprised to see some exclusive artwork at Best Buy or Target, especially with all of the character posters they designed. And, if they do, this one will probably be the big seller:

<a href="http://media.photobucket.com/image/kick-ass poster/cinespacio/Posters/kick_ass_poster_06-535x305.jpg?o=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://i906.photobucket.com/albums/ac263/cinespacio/Posters/kick_ass_poster_06-535x305.jpg" border="0"></a>

This one never made its way to theaters around here, but I'm fairly sure I'd like it so I'll probably blind buy it when its out.

I loved the way Cage portrayed his character. Total Adam West homage.

Awesome movie. Definitely picking it up eventually. I like that included DVDs are becoming the norm.

Hoping we'll see some discussion about this release at comic con... hopefully Lionsgate will offer a comic con exclusive early sale of this.

Looks like the UK is going to get a Steelbook Blu-ray / DVD release.

I wish they used that (albeit probably temp) art as the cover art for the NA release.

Question is now, is it going to be region free and how much exactly is £18.39 in Us... Google is telling me anywhere from 60 cents which is obviously wrong up to 22 bucks which doesn't seem right either as I would think 18 should be closer to like 30 or so

Day 1 for me as Kick Ass is my favorite movie of the year so far(and seeing as I have seen it 3 times is a few repeat viewings away from being in my top 20 of all time) The BonusView PiP is icing on the Kick Ass(pun intended) Cake.

$26.94 at current exchange rates (according to XE.com, which I've always found to be accurate).

I preordered the U.K. Steelbook. My player is multiregion, but I believe most of Universal's Blu-rays have been region-free. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

For those of you that really, really liked this movie, this might be for you. Link

I'd lock in the pre-order now while it's cheap. The shipping is free since it's over $25.
