Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

They could put a rubber duckie and a glazed ham on the cover. I don't care, as long as they respect the presentation of the film on the disc.

I actually really like that cover, which just means it will change. Whenever I really like a cover it's changed to something dumber.

That's a terrible cover, but it certainly grabs your attention.

I like that cover art, looks pretty good, this is one where i kind of wish universal did digibooks cause that would look nice sitting next my autographed copy of North By Northwest.

another funny note imagine how that would have looked in the red hd dvd case lol.

I was thinking the color scheme looked familiar, and I think it's because of this

Those ratings logos ruin artwork for me. Absolutely horrible.

gotta love the UK...not only do they ruin artwork they also ruin the ability to see Nunchucks and bulletwounds to the knees. Heaven forbid it's a Nunchuck to the knee.

I prefer the US cover to that Steelbook, ratings or no. The border looks bad, IMO.

I prefer the UK steelbook's cover as opposed to the US release cover despite the fact that it has those ugly ratings logos on it. Just don't really like the red for some reason. Might order the UK version if its region free.

I kinda like the look of the US cover. But then I also bought the "blood pack" version of Ichi the Killer.

Hopefully the majority of the doc. will be dedicated to the four Anthony Perkins installments. I'd hate to see too much time wasted on the 1987 TV movie "Bates Motel" and the 1998 "Psycho" remake.

There's also supposed to be a documentary on the Jaws series called "The Shark is Still Working." I wonder what happened with that?

I saw it last year. The director was in attendance and did a Q&A after. He is still hoping that Universal will use it on a future DVD/BD release but nothing was definite at the time.

I like that art for the steelbook, but I agree that the ratings ruin it, but that's the UK for you. Almost everything I've ever bought from the UK has ratings on the front.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

Preordered the UK Steelbook. Seems like Universal titles in the UK are generally region free. So it shoudl play in the US. Of course, I ahvent read any donfirmation of that yet.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

I hope that Psycho is the first of Universal's Hitchcocks because of the anniversary and not being considered a "trial balloon" for future releases. Considering some people's attitudes toward black and white, I expect that Vertigo or Rear Window would have sold better.

Not to mention that it comes out in August and the US release comes out in October.

Psycho is arguably Hitchcock's most famous film though.

I don't think there's anything to worry about. The vast majority of people who would buy a Hitchcock movie in the first place would have no problem with black and white.
