Hitchcock's ghost must've been trying to break the projector so no one would have to sit through the rest of that travesty.

LOL (at the above few stories).

Went to Walmart this evening. Not ONE copy of Psycho.

Not even a spot for it.

The person in flansered's story was the woman in charge of Wal-Mart's product nationwide.

How much was it at Target?

I was just at one, and it was $19.99.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

I think my Target had it marked as $17.99. I was tempted to get it but I think I'll just wait and go with the UK version instead. Better audio plus I wouldn't mind seeing the Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode which isn't present on the
US Blu.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

Yeah, it was $19.99. I passed on it since I have the Universal Legacy Series release and because the next few weeks are going to be bad due to other releases/sales. I might pick it up later when it's cheaper.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

I've heard that The Birds is being worked on for a Bluray release next after Psycho? Anyone confirm this?
I need to dump my current DVD of The Birds if this is true.
I was happy with the new Psycho release. I had never seen this movie all the way through before so I was watching this for the first time after 50 years.

I don't know how "confirmed" you could call this, but there was a list of planned blu-ray releases from Universal, and The Birds was on the list, but without a firm release date. Here's the news from October: Universal's BD Rollout

Presumably, these would be 1st-quarter releases, but any of these titles could very easily be delayed.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

Is the blu-ray OOP?

it was around $14.99 at Amazon then bumped to $19.99 and you can't find it at bestbuy. target, or walmart.com.

I thought it would be a 100 years Universal release but I think that is only for DVD and not blu-ray.

I don't think it's OOP, just that the price went up.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

When you can't find it at multiple stores including barnes and noble it must be OOP or on the verge with a new edition probably coming in the future.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

It'll probably just get reissued with a Universal 100 slipcover.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

Still out of print but Psycho II and III will be released by Shout Factory on Sept 24

Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray Richard Franklin's Psycho II (1983), starring Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, and Meg Tilly, and Anthony Perkins' Psycho III (1986), starring Anthony Perkins, Diana Scarwid, and Jeff Fahey.

Re: Psycho 50th Anniversary BD

I will definitely pick these up. I actually liked Psycho 3 better than 2. Shame they couldn't round out Perkins stuff and issue 4 as well. Now i have to keep my DVD 3 pack. What sucks is I only paid maybe 10 bucks for that 3 pack. These two movies is going to cost me at least 5 times that amount.
