Another re-release from Fox. Just fantastic.

The DVD extras and new cover art will probably get me to upgrade. I'm assuming there'll be some movie cash for Predators included too.

indeed. And all the current SE's features. And maybe some more stuff. I've held off cuz of it's lack of features on the BD. Can't say it enough but...Predator is amazing.

It appears the UK version has been remastered, which likely means the US will be. Based on walmart.com's description, this will be a 2-disc set with the dvd extras and include movie cash for the upcoming film.

I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement with a better codec.

I'm not sure there will be too much improvement given how grungy the film is to begin with. But I have to think a fresh AVC encode on a BD50 will show some benefit vs the old MPEG-2 crammed on a BD25.

Glad I didn't bite on the current one. I'll wait and see on this new one.

Hopefully a remaster will clean up some of the grainy inconsistency problems haunting the original US BD release. I'm not sure it was purposely produced in that manner either, but I could be mistaken. Some shots are magnificently clear while the very next sequence of shots are soft and heavily grainy. A close up of Carl Weathers with pock marks isn't something I want to see every day.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the initial reviews fare. Then again, I was fortunate to pick up the first release for $5 so a double dip for the extra features is easily justifiable for the right price.
