i still dont understand why you continue to buy blurays since they allways seem to disapoint you based on your posts on this and other sites.
perhaps you should just stick to hulu plus, since your "SOLD" on that

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that "Enchantment Under the Sea Revisited" is not going to be included, but...it's something everyone should see if they haven't yet. Here it is:

You're not far off. The first draft of BTTF originally had the time machine as a refrigerator. Given Spielberg's involvement in both series it wouldn't surprise me if the "nuke the fridge" scene was implemented from the earliest draft of the first film.

I wonder if anyplace in the US will offer a special edition like this. Normally this isn't something I'd care about but this is my favorite movie series of all time and I'd like to get those extras. I think I'm going to just place an order at Amazon UK for now and if anyplace does get exclusives that are equal to or better I'll just cancel it.

55.99 is a steal IMO

it'll probably fall in price anyway

Thats a terrible price, considering that for only a few dollars more you can get the blu ray tin, with all the extra stuff.I found out that besides all the extra stuff I mentioned earlier in the thread, itll also include a save the clock tower flyer.

I'd rather have less crap and a lower price on just the movies.

what bluray tin?
in any case you do realize the price will most likely drop between now and release date, so it will most likely end up being a bit cheaper.

All that stuff is pretty awesome. I'm a big Back to the Future geek so I will definitely be in for all that extra stuff.

When you say source, do you mean for the preorder, or for where I found what the extra stuff is ??? If you mean for preorder, its amazon uk.If you want the place that names the extra stuff, its play.com.

As a lifetime Back to the Future fan, I would definitely spring for the UK discs assuming they aren't region locked.

Did Universal just steal my wallet? Hey, they just took my wallet!

I'm really surprised at all the hate Parts II and III get. I mean the original is a classic but some of you people act as though the sequels are the worst piles of garbage ever produced. I'd personally put Part II at the same level as the original, if not higher (I go back and forth constantly which one I like more). Part III really isn't that bad either a slight step down from the first two but still watchable and better than a lot of crap out there. I also don't really understand how some of you would want to own the first two and not the third. I mean the third film completes it without it Part II just kinda ends with no resolution.

Its still a watchable movie though  I will agree that its not as strong as the first two, but like I said its pretty much essential when viewing the trilogy unless you just choose to end Part II on a cliffhanger which seems kinda odd to me. I think the big thing that drags Part III down is Mary Steenburgen and some bits that didn't work out (I still to this day hate the ELB train at the end). I know a lot of people like to nit pick why Maggie McFly look like a member of Lorraine's family as well, but I guess that never bothered me.

I never understood that either. I don't expect people to grovel at the sequels but the way most shun them off and say they're garbage clearly haven't appreciated them for what they are.

Maybe I'm biased. Part II is my favorite film.

I love part II, in fact out of the 3 it's my favorite with 1 as a close second and 3 in last place. I do feel part III is the weakest, but I still enjoy it as a film. If I watch the first movie I HAVE to watch 2 and 3 right away after. At one point in time I took my VHS tapes and edited all 3 films together into one 6 hour film. It's one of the few series of films that continues off each other and works coherently as one continual film.

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)

I prefer III over I, so take that

Perhaps it's because II & III were the first I saw theatrically, but I love how Dr. Brown-centric III is. Cmon, Brown/Lloyd MAKE those films and #3 features more of him than any other film. It also takes the concept from the first film (the changing photograph) and shows that time is not written, thus wrapping up the films in a nice bow in the final scene where Marty is racing and decides to hit the brakes.

That said #2 is probably my favorite film of all time. I love that it shows the conflicts with playing with the timeline that no other 'time travel' film before it did before. It's just too bad they fucked up THE SOUND OF THUNDER so bad... that story and the concept itself had some real promise and the sad fact is that The Simpsons did it better ;)

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)

Growing up I disliked Part III, but mainly because I didn't care about the Old West time period. But now I've come to really like Part III, maybe even more than Part II. When they were showing the movies on ABC Family a couple of weeks ago, I watched them practically the entire weekend, having it on anytime I was home. I ended up seeing Part III more than the rest and started to see what that movie was a good show of character development. As mentioned before, it's a great Doc Brown-centric movie, giving us more insight into him. Then seeing how Marty had to learn to stop giving in anytime someone called him "chicken" (or "yellow", etc.). He didn't have to prove himself. Doc Brown became more vulnerable (through finding his love interest) and Marty matured. It's really a great movie that ties up there characters, where the other two focused a lot more on just the time travel, the consequences of it, and fixing the problems they made. And besides, I love seeing all the references to part III in part II (i.e. Doc's Hawaiian shirt, his mention of his favorite time period, and the Clint Eastwood movie that Biff is watching in Alt 1985).

I think it's funny that, when they were released theatrically, Part II was savaged by critics as being nothing more than a shameless placeholder and set-up for another sequel (the same complaints leveled against The Empire Strikes Back, incidentally). Then Part III was rapturously embraced by those same critics for having a "real ending." It's interesting how the tide has turned in public opinion on those two movies.

I never noticed that. Now I can never watch that scene again without seeing it. I'd say the kid just needed to use the bathroom and was trying to get his mom or someone to come over to let them know.
