One of my favorite westerns of all time. Robert Knott who co-wrote the screenplay for the film took over writing duties for the further adventures of Cole & Hitch series when Robert B. Parker died. Knott was handpicked by Parker's estate to take over those writing duties. I think they are awesome and Knott was a natural choice to have taken over for Parker.

Indeed. Appaloosa is an amazing movie.
and just bought the blu. I had the digital copy in Vudu, but few short extras and Dolby TrueHD got me...

just got this behemoth set. mostly blind buy as i've only seen the Cronenberg version and it's sequel, which i only saw once. but sounds like great extras on all. saw bit of '58 version and of course the infamous "help me" scene is iconic, but never saw whole thing. how do those older sequels hold up, Curse and Return?
