I think this is likely to be bogus because:

Utterly meaningless.

Just as you falsely assume he meant both, so by your logic, your stance is just as much an invention of your own and in your own head as mine is.

As is your insistence on the meaninglessness of the screener's AR.

So now what?

All of you shut your fucking mouths and wait for the official specs for the home release are made available?

But then what would be left to argue about?

Might as well continue....

Moses: And the Lord God said, Thou shalt not kill.

Slop101: OK, so he said thou shalt not kill... in Egypt. He didn't say anything about not killing outside of Egypt. So, therefore, obviously, he means that it's OK to kill anywhere in the world other than Egypt. Did you hear that, everybody? God said that when we're outside of Egypt, he wants us to kill. That's perfectly fine. He encourages it. It's only when we're specifically in Egypt that he doesn't want us to kill, for some weird reason. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Mo misheard him. It's probably fine to kill here too. Yeah, it's gotta be. So let's be clear here: God said that killing is good. Everybody got that? Great! Now, where did I put that sword?...

You fail at analogies. I'm glad I didn't write that - I'd be pretty embarrassed.

Not to mention, same thing could apply to you as your reasoning is even more specious than mine.

Furthermore, I'm stating my opinion of what I think will happen applying logic based on available facts, whereas you're stating your case with absolute certainty.

I wanna side with Josh but only if he changes "Egypt" to "wilderness". Otherwise I can't pick a dog in this fight.

Re: AVATAR Blu-ray - 4/22/10

I was curious about the AR of the DVD/Blu and found this thread.

This could be a mistake or just misinformation but it's worth looking at I think.

Edit: well i can't post a url cause of some rule apparently. Odd. Anyway if you google for JBHiFi (large australian electonics chain store similar to best buy) and search for Avatar dvd or blu you'll find this info.

Re: AVATAR Blu-ray - 4/22/10

Shouldn't we have an official announcement by now if this is, indeed, scheduled for a April 22nd (a Thursday?) release?

I think that it will be a 21-day-old April Fools joke played on us all.

According to that listing, the disc is also PAL. However, Blu-rays are not PAL or NTSC. Those specs are clearly just preliminary, and very likely something the retailer filled in on their own without any studio confirmation.

I've noticed that amazon sometimes lists their BDs as either NTSC or PAL, when that, other than possibly the SD extras, makes no sense at all.

I guess I’m still curious on why any studio would be pushing to get their move out on DVD or Blu Ray next month when the movie is still doing a good amount of business in theaters. Avatar is still in the top 5 at the box office after 12 weeks, why rush it?

Agreed. March does feel too early for something released in December and still doing this well. I would take some time with it and put out the value-added DVD and Blu-ray in June. Unless 3-D television takes off faster than anyone thought, we already know we're not going to get Avatar on Blu-ray 3-D this year.

Since it says "2 discs" maybe that PAL listing is for a DVD included in that release?
