I know the prevailing sentiment holds that direct-to-video = low quality, but then, so many other norms of the movie industry have changed in the last few decades I see no reason this couldn't also be altered. I say move Redbox and Netflix from the rear to the frontline; circulate those rentals/streams to generate word of mouth and interest and then see what movies are worthy of being shown on a big screen.
I find this extremely unlikely. How many people are seriously going to go out on a Friday night to pay 10 bucks to see a movie they just got from Netflix last week or have sitting on their shelf?

But in a more alarming turn of events- NATO, in an act of defiance, has dispatched two aircraft carriers to patrol the international waters near Disney.

Amazon has a March 30 release date for Alice in Wonderland (2 disc Special Un-Anniversary Edition).

I can't find information on it anywhere else. And it's only on DVD. Bummer.

They've advertised it heavily in a commercial on TBS lately. According to UltimateDisney.com, it's expected to add a couple minor new features to those found on The Masterpiece Edition DVD release.

This is true. And it makes me sad.

The sooner the better. I've already seen it 4 times in the theater.

I think the DVD/BD release dates of movies is going to get so close together that sooner or later you'll be able to buy the disc on your way out of the theater in the lobby after seeing it.
