Correct me if I'm wrong, but the source material to make that happen isn't so good.

This is where I'm at right now. I really wanted to get Prince of Darkness and the two Psycho movies this week, but PofD is $24.99 on Amazon. I just can't spend that much on a one disc release anymore.

I'm not sure why this hasn't happened yet, as it seems to be a no brainer.
Because it doesn't exist in HD. The producer's cut workprint only exists in SD quality and the film elements are missing. It would have to be upscaled to HD on Blu-ray.

Doesn't the Scream Factory release of Halloween 2 have the TV version on a DVD? If the workprint isn't in HD quality is it at least suitable enough for a DVD release, or is the quality too horrible even for that?

Dimension/Miramax were working on it circa 2005, but for whatever reason, they never followed through. Dimension has that distribution deal with Echo Bridge on this movie so who knows how feasible it is to release the producer's cut anytime soon.

Agreed. I'm hoping for the newest releases to eventually be included, but I feel like I'm going to miss them because I forget to check the page, haha.

Twitter is your friend. I'm keeping a close eye on this sale for titles I don't have yet (which, sadly for my wallet, is few).

Out of curiosity, anyone know what October 2nd's deal was?

I forgot to check it out.

A listing for Shout's Blu-ray combo pack of RAISE THE TITANIC went up today. Releasing January 21. Very nice, and long overdue for this unfairly maligned film.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FM4S7FE/

There are also listings for DIE MONSTER DIE and, of all things, a Blu-ray double feature of NEANDERTHAL MAN (which is already included in one of their Movies 4 You collections in a very respectable transfer) and BEAST OF HOLLOW MOUNTAIN.

The Amityville Horror Trilogy is pretty tempting for $34.99. I've never ordered from Goupon before, how are they?

Very good, I've gotten stuff from them in the past. I picked up the Amityville set as well. I doubt we'll see Shout drop this in price anytime soon, maybe during the next Halloween sale.

Amazon just dropped the Amityville set to $39.99. Not quite at Groupon's price, but for those who still don't have to pay tax, it might have appeal.

I think I'm going to grab that deal on The Amityville Horror Trilogy from Amazon. I'd rather pay $5 more to Amazon who I've dealt with many times and never had issues with.

**SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT!**

We're happy to report that we've gone back into our "vaults" and will be bringing the original 1982 SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE film to Blu-ray for the first time in early 2014! This will be a brand new HD transfer taken from the original camera negative. We had many requests for this and we're pleased to be able to bring this into the Scream family.

for pic size

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

This is it--the final 24 hours of our sale have come down to this: all 25 items from The Price Is Fright Sale have come back from the undead to be marked down for one more day (until 9:00am PST 10/24/13), all at once. This time around there will be a standard shipping charge, but you can always add more to your cart to increase the savings!

Can you handle the horror? Quick, there's no time to go back and save anyone who may be lagging behind... It's every person/zombie for themselves in a free-for-all that's sure to end in carnage--on your TV, that is!

Other than The Howling, They Live, From Beyond, and The Fog, which of these are must-haves?

I'm eyeing Halloween II and III, and Lifeforce.

They promised and then reneged on free shipping on today's sale; which pretty much kills it. Amazon prices should be better on most.
