So, two titles are being announced today. One has never been available in widescreen before, the other has never been on DVD.

Guesses?

** EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT**

For the next couple of months on Fridays we'll reveal a title planned for a future release which is part of a new licensing deal we struck. The first out of the crate are...TERRORVISION (1986) and THE NEST (1988)

The highly-requested TERRORVISION has never been on DVD format before and THE NEST has never been released in a widescreen presentation. That will all change soon. :-)

Check back with us next Fri for another release scoop. And keep checking back with us regularly for more release specific details on TV and THE NEST.

Ditto!

Maybe they'll rescue The Video Dead next.

So, based on the fact they Blu-ray is never mentioned is this announcement, should we assume that these are DVD Only releases?

Oh well, we'll take what we can get, right?

I wouldn't make that assumption at all.

New art for one of my personal favorites:

I love the hell out of this film, and while I haven't been a fan of the other new cover designs, I'm actually sort of digging this one.

Holy hell, I never dreamed that one would get a blu ray release. Love that art too. I will definitely be buying that one. Thanks for posting *drool*

I really wish the releases were numbered on the spines, as I plan on picking up as many of these as I can. Love classic horror!

I'm holding off until they each hit $15 on Amazon.
Pretty much all of the Corman blu-rays eventually came down that low, don't see why these would be any different.

I agree $15 would be a good price point for these. Granted, the lower priced Duellists skews the average, but my order came to about $15.73 per title, which I think is acceptable. My concern, which may be unfounded, is that they continue to put out blu-rays in this line. The Corman series seemed to peter out on blu-ray offerings in favor of DVD only. I'm naively hoping release week purchases will contribute to some stay power.

Yep me too.

Also, I want most of these titles for this years horror movie challenge, not next years. The dvdempire sell lets me both buy them week one and assuage my guilt about paying top dollar week one. It's win - win.

I think the Corman series stopped putting out blurays more because they released all their big name titles first (and because the Women In Cages bluray bombed badly iirc). As much as I'd love to have the Deathstalker & Slumber Party Massacres on blu, I don't think there's much of a market for those films.

Shout's decisions regarding releases confuse the hell out of me though. Cliff Mac said he was pushing real hard for a Death Hunt blu-ray and kept getting overruled. I have a hard time believing that there is more of a market for The Island or Starcrash.

I keep meaning to check this out. I made a DVD-RW copy of it from Netflix a few years ago with the intention of watching it on my bedroom DVD player when the rest of the fam dominates the big TV in the living room. Same with TerrorVision. I'll have to watch both for the Horror Challenge this October!
