Noticed that the thread title was changed - might be more appropriate to re-label it 'The Official Shout! Factory Blu-ray Thread', as any Corman Blu-rays would be released by Shout, and Shout's other Blu-ray releases like Damnation Alley and Oblivion, plus whatever future titles they announce, could continue to be included.

Blu-ray.com review of Battle Beyond the Stars
I guess Liebman isn't a big fan of silly B-movies (except Star Wars!).

Correct. Cliff also said that, depending on sales of the Women in Cages box, some of their recent acquisitions (Corman biker and nurse films) may also receive BD releases.

Re: The One and Only Shout! Factory Blu-ray Thread
So, has anyone checked out Battle or Alley yet? I thought Battle was loads of hokey fun, although Richard Thomas was pretty bland in the lead. John Saxon was surprisingly grim and effective as the heavy though. I thought the transfer was excellent, and I'm looking forward to delving into the extras. Alley, on the other hand, really tried my patience - as the reviews have noted, there simply isn't enough to it. The film could have used at least one more scene of conflict with mutants, monsters, or some other interesting enemy. The transfer, considering the source materials, looked pretty solid, certainly better than one might be expecting from the Beaver caps. I'll listen to the commentary this week - perhaps the director is able to mount a suitable defense of the film!

Thanks for the link. It's too bad The Big Bird Cage and it's extras couldn't have been housed on a BD-50, but the caps still look pretty sharp. I suppose the cigarette burns and scratches will add to the overall grindhouse experience. At least, that's what I'll tell myself.

Some disappointing but not unsurprising news, in response to a question about future Blu-rays:

I recently noticed that FATAL ATTRACTION sold less than 800 copies.
It's hard to recoup the added BD expenses when you are selling so few copies.

Terror Train (with reversible cover) and Walking Tall trilogy in July, and (possibly) Death Watch as a Shout! website exclusive.
