Kinda too bad the third was put out under the Vestron line rather than Scream. I guess either way at least they're all out. Just an OCD thing.

Lionsgate never would have licensed it to Scream, so I'm glad they put it out at all.

For anyone who doesn’t have it yet I found Scream’s release of Misery at Walmart for only $12.96. I figured it’s a decent deal and worth sharing. Seems like a rarity to find one of their releases at Walmart.

They've been carrying a very limited selection of Shout Factory stuff over the last couple of years. I don't think every location gets them, however.

Any chance of finding the first Return of the Living Dead with a slipcover at a brick & mortar location?

Speaking of slipcovers I forgot to mention my copy of Misery has one. Finding it in store was like how the releases normally come when ordered online with the shrink wrap around the slipcover. I normally don’t care about slipcovers but I keep the ones with my Scream Factory releases since I normally reverse the artwork on the actual case to the classic art.

Amazon has The Tingler and Strait-Jacket listed for August 21.

Coincidently, there is a Strait-Jacket/Berserk Joan Crawford DF from Mill Creek on August 7.

Wild At Heart is delayed until August 21. Manufacturing defect or something.

Damn! That is one of only a couple of pre-orders I have out. Was looking forward to it.

The good news is that some of the pre-orders are being honored. I say this, because I got an email that my credit card had been charged for the transaction via Amazon and it should arrive by next Tuesday. They are offering replacement discs (Shout Factory) and those should ship in about 8-12 weeks. I hear it's a small "glitch" that may affect the menu? My buddy who got his copy says that his copy is fine.

I think SF posted an update on their FB page, though.

That explains it! I posted on the "Blu-Ray Bargains" that I got a cancellation and refund for my just-ordered "Wild At Heart", which seemed odd to me.

I received a screener for Wild at Heart a few days ago. Haven't popped it in yet, though. From the comments on Facebook, the issue appears to be the the menu has no music or sound effects. If that's correct, it seems like a pretty ridiculous thing to delay the release for three months over.

What is going on at quality control over at Shout Factory? This is happening more and more.

To me, that sounds like a feature, not a bug!

My Wild At Heart from Amazon was changed to be delivered in August. Beyond disappointed. Likely going to just cancel it.

Why? The movie's 28 years old, you can't wait another 3 months for the Blu-ray?

I'll be interested to see if these are remastered and what new special features they have. I already own the quadrilogy, so...

Well, I'll probably be buying this. The first one is awesome, and the second one is also great (it almost feels like the first one is a takeoff of Alien and the second is their version of Aliens)...Haven't seen the next two but I look forward to them...

Lifeforce, Army Of Darkness, The Howling...these titles are coming out soon on 1080P from 4K transfers.

Now the question is why isn't Shout releasing those titles on 4K blu-ray?

I'd imagine they think the market is too small right now. Shout has put out a fair number of UHD BDs, so I'm sure they could if they wanted to, but they probably want to make a splash when the install base is larger.

It's the same story with basically every specialty label. Tons of these guys are doing 4K scans, but literally no one (Scream, Arrow, Synapse, Blue Underground, etc.) is putting 'em out on Ultra HD Blu-ray, at least not in the U.S. We're still just getting drips and drabs of catalog titles on UHD BD, and anything pre-'90s is barely represented at all. Even just looking at far more recent movies, there's very, very little horror on UHD BD.

I'm confident that things will change one day. I'm not sure it'll be anytime soon (although fingers crossed...!).
