I just received 6 from UPS. I think WB lost my order because it was taking too long. Over 3 monthes to be exact. So I sent them an email to find out the order status. They sent me an email confirming that they received my email on Monday August 16 at night. I didn't get a response until Friday, August 20 in the morning. It read that the order was mailed out on Tuesday, August 17 through UPS was set to arrive later that day on the 20th. The status they sent me shown that they received my 6 dvds on May 14. I got:

Risky Business
Christmas Vacation
Tango and Cash
Music and Lyrics
Gods and Generals
Elf (sent them my Full screen copy)

Got my 5 discs today. I can't remember when I mailed off the DVDs but I think it took around 3 weeks. Not a bad deal or a bad turnaround time.

This may be a stupid question, but I'm looking at the FAQs and it says:

Q: Can I really swap any DVD for a new Blu-ray disc?
A: Yes, qualifying DVDs include any pre-recorded discs that contain professionally produced content purchased at a regular retail or e-commerce store (excluding adult content). The DVDs can contain film, TV, sports, animation or documentary content and can be from Warner Bros. or non-Warner Bros. Blank or copied DVDs do not qualify.

Okay, does that mean I buy one of those $1 Hitchcock DVDs and trade it in to get any blu-ray I want?

I remember reading the verbiage a while ago and I thought you could only trade a DVD title for the exact same blu-ray title.

But according to that verbiage, it seems like you could literally trade in ANY DVD for a blu-ray title.

Is this true or am I just looking into this wrong??

Warner Archive just reiterated this information in a Tweet to CriterionCast's Ryan Gallagher, so I think, for whatever crazy reason, WB is taking any DVDs from any studio.

I just put in an order for 11. Seems to good to be true. I will have no problem finding 11 crap dvds from my collection to send in.

It would be especially great (given these Tweets are coming from the Archive account) if they'd start allowing you to trade for anything they offer, including Archive titles. I still haven't bitten on any, but I'd definitely do it in exchange for a bunch of trash discs.

I just checked and unfortunately with the discs offered I already have the ones I'm interested in. So I have plenty of trade bait but nothing to trade for.

Holy crap. When did they change it? I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that at the beginning. I have some "double dips" of mine that I could use to exchange. I already did 5 so I have up to 20 more.

Really? These are pretty old titles and if you've been buying HD DVD/Blu-rays as long as I have, there is not a whole lot of great things here. And even at $5, most of these have been in the $10ish or less range for a long time. I struggled to find two movies, but until I can get free shipping (so 6-7), I'm not biting. I'll just hold on to my copy of "The Simple Life: Season One" a bit longer. Wish they would add newer films (both the National Lampoon films, Neverending Story)

I just re-read the FAQ. Sure enough it says you can send ANY 1 DVD of any movie from any studio to get a complete BD TV season set. Well, this is just too good to be true. I've been wanting The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Pushing Daises seasons for a long time (I kept missing those ~$20 deals at WBShop), so this is $14.95 per season with free shipping... best deal I've seen yet and I'm probably safe for Black Friday. I suppose Amazon could have them for $9.99, but $14.99 is more likely. Excluding gohastings phantom deals I never get on, $14.95 each is the lowest price I've seen these seasons.

I would've ordered more BDs as $4.95 is my DVD to BD upgrade threshold, but I don't have time to "deal with" it all now because I have to read several reviews on each to decide which ones are worthy of a DVD to BD upgrade (when they drop extras or go single layer I tend to shy away from upgrading). I also noticed they dropped some of the $6.95 I upgraded earlier (like Body of Lies) down to $4.95. I wish I would've waited on those.

The reason I placed the order now is that I DON'T TRUST THEM not to jack up the prices on TSCC and Pushing Daisies or do what happened when they started the program and I wanted to order Planet Earth. They removed it from the web sites literally minutes before I tried to order it.

But fear not... now that I ordered TSCC and Pushing Daisies, those will remain on the list and not go up in price (they could even drop in price). Had I not ordered now, they would've disappeared 1 microsecond before I tried to order them this weekend.

From what I gather, you're limited 25 titles per househould, but you can place multiple orders? I've only upgraded maybe 10 titles on 2 previous occasions, so I guess you can keep doing this until you hit 25 and at that point their address comparison software will tell you "too bad"?

Great deal for someone just now getting into Blu, but I imagine for most here they probaly already have the titles they want from this. Really the only one I absolutely want is Superman 2, but with shipping costs forget about it.

How can you find 25 you don't already have? I hardly buy any at all and I have the majority of them.
