I thought I might upgrade Final Destination but a quick glance at amazon shows a cost of $10.

I like the idea, but there's only one title on that list that I haven't already upgraded. WB really needs to add more titles.

Got my order today. The envelope wasn't sealed properly, so out of the seven discs that I traded in for, only one was in the envelope.

The envelope looks like it was run over by a truck, so I'm not holding out too much hope for this one disc either.

Hopefully customer service will come through soon. I have a feeling they are on holiday.

Just placed an order and sent the discs off today for the following five titles:

- Christmas Vacation
- Dumb and Dumber
- Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
- History of Violence
- Wedding Singer

Total came out to $40 (no shipping costs or tax, yay). $20 less than Amazon's current asking price for those specific BDs. Let us see how long it'll take to get the BDs. Really wish Warner added more to the line-up to choose from (along with adding new catalog titles once they street).

So $7.95 titles are now $4.95, and $9.95 titles are now $6.95. I was considering this, but I didn't know you had to mail in your DVDs also. That makes me a little more lukewarm towards this, even though it seems like a good deal.

They're still showing as $7.95 & $9.95 for me.

They'll change to the lower price when you view your cart.

Is it just me or has the selection shrunk dramatically? I seem to recall almost double the amount they have there now.

It's showing $5 now.

went ahead and placed an order for 8 of them...now the waiting begins.

They've now changed the posted prices and added a bunch of titles, some of which I've already upgraded on my own or gotten rid of the DVDs of. :(

I hope WB properly recycles the DVDs they receive.
In Canada, HMV is offering $5 discount on many Blu's if people bring in the same titles on DVD.
Most of the DVDs I've upgraded I like to keep around for the extras (especially trailers) which weren't brought over, plus their playability in more locations.

I can do 11 titles, including a couple I REALLY wanted to upgrade for $60. I'll definitely get on this.

Re: Warner's new DVD2BLU program begins

I thought about doing it, but I only have 3 left on the list that I'm concerned with upgrading. I could do a couple others if I really cared to, but I hate to dump decent discs. I could potentially grab extra copies of some that I already upgraded just to sell, but that's not really worth doing. Did those of you sending movies with 2 disc editions send them both or just the movie disc?

to me for what they are offering, you would be better off selling the dvds yourself and picking up the blu in the store.

An order under the Program totaling more than $35, exclusive of taxes, qualifies for free shipping and handling.

Certainly you should check what the current value is on any particular disc, but in my experience most DVDs are worth very little, many in the $2 to $3 range, sometimes less, sometimes more. Only Criterions hold their value. So this can be a good deal at $5.

Exactly. If you can find enough to get you over the $35 free shipping threshold, you'll typically make out much better than selling individual discs on eBay or Amazon Marketplace or selling in bulk (Spun.com, Newtown, etc.)--especially for older titles. Sure, you can say, "It's on Amazon for $10!" However, if you can get the same disc for $4.95 through DVD2Blu, you'll likely make out better.

I could only find 4 that I wanted or haven't yet upgraded--ones that I wasn't going to bother upgrading. However, with a few more from my significant other in the mix, it puts it over $35 by $1.65. Definitely will get in on this.
  • Christmas Story, A (hers)
  • Deliverance (hers)
  • Dirty Dozen, The (hers)
  • Final Destination: Wasn't going to upgrade, but can't beat the price.
  • Fugitive, The: Reviews on PQ are mixed, but price is right.
  • History of Violence, A: Wasn't going to bother 'cause I bought the DVD cheap used ($1.50, I think), but why not?
  • Wedding Singer, The: Totally Awesome Edition: Was on my "PASS" list, but (again) the price can't be beat.

(Kind of amusing that she owns a couple of pretty manly flicks and I own The Wedding Singer. I've never even seen The Dirty Dozen!)

I'm waiting for the DVD + BLU trade-in program. Where you send in your UPC of a goddamn DVD case which housed a DVD and a Blu-ray (due to WB's amazing intellectual design) so WB can send me a friggin' 2-Disc Blu-ray case at no charge.

Good idea - it would let us keep our DVDs which have all the features.
I don't think Warner really needs our DVDs - they will probably be disposed of.

Does anyone know if you have to trade in the version pictured? I have Full Metal Jacket from the Kubrick Collection, will they accept that? Also, do you just keep the second disk if it's a two disk set eg. Eyes Wide Shut?

answers to both these questions can be found on the website.

I do not know if this is the right place to ask this kind of question, but I'm hoping that other users here can help. I placed my order through dvd2blu about a week ago. I did receive a "welcome" email about 24 hours after placing the order, but so far no email with the mailing label, or authorization for the amount off of my credit card. I have placed two messages in their "contact" are, and no response. Has anyone else had a delay in getting their order processed?
