The ending as it is now pisses me off already so, not really much a of a change for me!

I have been quite vocal on this site at my absolute hatred of this film, due to the way he handles the characters in this movie, but like the first film i will still buy the bluray just for the simple fact that its a great lesson in how NOT to make a movie.

this is one of the great things about dvd and bluray is that people get to see both good and bad exactly what directors and production companies do durring the course of production. as others have said else where, its really like a mini film school.

Thank god Zombie is not making Halloween 3D(though it sucks that TWC is not aiming for a 2010 release anymore) so that a new director can come on board and get this series back to its roots of the original parts 1 and II.

the person above who said slasher fans rejoice, i think you will find the majority of the people who hated this movie were fans of the great classic slasher films, and saw H2 for the dreck it was.
Sorry to say that's a dumb reason to waste your money. If you don't like the movie why buy it? I hated this movie was a passion and have no desire whatsoever to buy it.

It can't possibly piss off more people than the theatrical cut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvUX7VZhrbY

I am still trying to decide what i think about it, going to watch it again. I will say this, it is a much more intresting ending.

Anyone gotten ahold of a copy yet to tell us what version of the movie we will get? Will it be the drastically different Director's cut that has been rumored or simply the Theatrical version with extra blood under the DC moniker?

the youtube link i posted above has the new directors cut alternate ending and its very different than what was in the theatrical cut. based on that alone i think this movie is definately going to be drasticly changed. still think i hate the movie but its intresting.

How is that a dumb reason to waste my money? Alot of people buy movies that are crap but have an excellent slew of behind the scenes features and commentaries, for that very reason. many people (industry big wigs and ppl who want to learn about how to make films) have long said that alot can be learned from quite a few of these extensive behind the scenes features that are on DVD and now bluray. iam no fan of zombies movies but you cant deny that the 3 hour documentary and all the other in depth behind the scenes features on his directors cut of the first remake was an excellent study in how NOT to REMAKE a movie.

I wish they would have at least put both cuts on the disc. I'm not buying the DC blu ray and the theatrical dvd.

It's the Directors Cut only. I have it sitting right next to me...and I'm not really looking forward to watching it after it got slammed by so many. Perhaps later when I have a bit more alcohol in me. If Adam or Supr got it for Review, perhaps they can say how big the encode is and see if a Theatrical would have fit on the 50GB Disc it's currently on.

Is there anything else different other than the ending? I didn't like the DC for the first Halloween movie Zombie made.

If I had gotten it for any reason I would have immediately set it on fire.

It was sent to not-me to review, but because I hate myself, I ordered a copy from Amazon and should have it here on Tuesday to check. Unless seamless branching was viewed as too time-consuming or expensive, disc space shouldn't be an issue anyway.

Well...I have some Whiskey on the counter and will be watching it in a few minutes. Fuck. I hope it's not as bad as everyone made it out to be.

Re: H2 (Halloween II ) ------> 1/12/10

Gizmo.. can't wait to see what you think of it. I'm an old school horror fan (been watching them since the 70's as a kid). However, I also enjoy some of the newer stuff as well. I liked the F13th remake, the TCM remake, and even enjoyed Zombie's Halloween remake (for the most part). I went to see RZ's H2 in the theater and walked away thinking it was one of the worst pieces of garbage I've ever seen. Saw it in the middle of the day when there were only a handful of people there. When it was over, I didn't hear one person saying they liked it. In my opinion it was total garbage....

Re: H2 (Halloween II ) ------> 1/12/10

Has Gizmo even seen the theatrical version? If he hasn't then how is he going to know how drastically different this DC is from that version? From chatter that I have heard the real DC is supposed to quite different from the original and not in just the ending. That makes me wonder just what we will be getting with this. Is it the "DC" by the new ending or the completely altered version? I think it needs more whitetrash. (j/k)

That's not what you said. You said you were going to buy the movie as an example of how not to make a movie. You didn't say you were buying it for special features. Still a waste of money or Reward Zone coupons in my opinion.

And stop putting the quote UNDER what you have to say!

I'm sure I'll buy this once it drops to ~$5, mostly out of morbid curiousity and collecting reasons.

The first remake was one of the few films that makes me angry.
