H2 (Halloween II ) ------> 1/12/10

The smash 'hit' film will be coming out in January by Sony.

It has Weird Al, so I kind of HAVE to buy it.

I noticed the Sony credit when Amazon added it this morning. I'm sure that's a sign of something...

You couldn't pay me to watch this movie again, or even have a copy of it in my home.

I can't believe I will be buying it either (maybe I'll wait till its cheap).

I believe Rob said he just finished his directors cut of the film and it will be very different from the theatrical. I didnt see it in theatres after hearing an abortion was more fun than H2 so ill check it out as a rental... maybe.

Yeah, hence the 3 week delay from its normal Christmas release that was planned before. It's better than importing from Canada.

Ha Ha i loathed this film, thought it was the biggest waste of film ever made and couldnt bare what he did with this film. having said that though I have to see how different this cut is, so i will go ahead and order this. if for no other reason than to go with the other Halloween films in my collection. plus you can learn so much from watching the mistakes of people in the film industry. that was the one thing about his first halloween film, that 4 hour documentary really gave a indepth look at the inner workings of one of his films

Never mind found the link to preorder it on amazon. typed 2 instead of II

This may be the first Halloween film I outright refuse to own. I'll admit to having a mild curiosity in seeing the hack-director's cut, but I have serious doubts it'll do anything to redeem this piece of shit.

i thought this was the WORST movie ive seen in the past few years (and ive seen some real crappy movies)....i will do a rental on it though so see how much crappier--i mean different the 'directors cut' version is compared to the train wreck that was released in theatres.

Man people shit all over this. I don't know if I was just "prepared," but I actually liked it quite a bit. I also saw it with no one else in the theater to talk or be obnoxious so I'm sure that helped.

Hope it has a 4hour+ documentary, so I can get it on blu-ray.

I really liked Rob Zombie's first Halloween remake but absolutely hated this one. It would be nice to get the original Halloween II on Blu-ray sometime.

well universal has said they are supposedly going to get more agressive in there catalog releases on bluray next year perhaps the real Halloween II will get a release in high defintion at last. I wish Anchor Bay would start getting to work on putting out part 4 and 5.

dvd active has just posted the bluray artwork:
http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releas...loween-ii.html
unfortunately the bluray doesn`t seem to include the theatrical cut,
but only the unrated dc!

Wow. It took long enough. Liked this better than the 2007 film. Slasher fans rejoice. Everyone else...not so much.

I'm getting it. Loved how he plays with the Loomis character.

That artwork sucks almost as much as the movie did.

And if the director's cut is as varied from the theatrical as I've heard it is then basically everyone is making a blind buy on this one. Not including the theatrical cut might be a big mistake as fans of it might hate this varied version and others who hated the theatrical might not care for either one.

Yeah...that is sorta fucked up.

Re: H2 (Halloween II ) ------> 1/12/10

They only put the DC of the remake on Blu, so it's not much of a surprise they're doing the same for this one. Honestly, the TC was so bad it can only get better... maybe.

Re: H2 (Halloween II ) ------> 1/12/10

If the director's cut is THAT different from the theatrical cut, the only thing I have to say is "WTF."

Now, I absolutely DESPISED Rob's Halloween II, and I actually rather enjoyed his first one. That should tell you how bad this movie was. But, this whole 'oh man, the director's cut is done now and it's a totally different movie' really pisses me off. This movie was released when? AUGUST. And he finished his ultimate director's cut when? OCTOBER. It makes me feel like he made his shit film as fast as possible so he could beat some deadline to get it in theaters at a studio specified date, and then went and made the 'real' version of the film after the fact. I love it when we get TRUE director's cuts that had to have stuff cut in order to work better in theaters, but the whole process I've heard from news sites and reading Rob's twitter itself leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

That being said, I hope the director's cut is 'better', but I really don't see how a different cut can really make this film any better, I really don't.

Re: H2 (Halloween II ) ------> 1/12/10

so does this mean that
Spoiler:
Dr Loomis will once again turn out not to have died brutally at the hands of michael as depicted in the theatrical release
just like in the directors cut of the remake

only way this directors cut will be better is if they ditch
Spoiler:
ghost mom and her white horse, and lose the michael talking to his ghost mom through a ghostly version of his kid self

I have been quite vocal on this site at my absolute hatred of this film, due to the way he handles the characters in this movie, but like the first film i will still buy the bluray just for the simple fact that its a great lesson in how NOT to make a movie.

this is one of the great things about dvd and bluray is that people get to see both good and bad exactly what directors and production companies do durring the course of production. as others have said else where, its really like a mini film school.

Thank god Zombie is not making Halloween 3D(though it sucks that TWC is not aiming for a 2010 release anymore) so that a new director can come on board and get this series back to its roots of the original parts 1 and II.

the person above who said slasher fans rejoice, i think you will find the majority of the people who hated this movie were fans of the great classic slasher films, and saw H2 for the dreck it was.

I spoke to Rob Zombie last night at a meet and greet and he told me the end of the Director's cut is going to piss off a lot of people ;)
