Gremlins ------> September 29th (Target Exclusive)
Since not everyone reads the the Oz threads...
Specs are currently unknown. What we do know is Joe Dante apparently went back some time ago to remaster the film:
Special Features also unknown, but I'd wager the same as the previous Special Edition DVD.

April 28, 2009 - Joe Dante told the horror fan site Bloody Disgusting that he's been working on the upcoming Blu-ray release of his films Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch. On the set of his latest film The Hole, the director said that he doesn't have any plans to be involved in another installment of the franchise, but he has been asked to give his input on the Gremlins and Gremlins 2 Blu-rays.
Dante expects that most of the material from the DVD special editions will be brought over, including the two commentaries he recorded for Gremlins. He also told the site that he's been trying to get Warner Bros. to include a short fan film by a Belgium filmmaker that's become popular on YouTube. He even suggested that the filmmaker would be a good choice to direct a potential third Gremlins film.
Although Gremlins will have its 25th anniversary this summer, the Blu-ray release has been temporary delayed in order to give the producers a chance to restore the film for a new transfer. Warner Bros. has not announced a new release date in the U.S. for either Gremlins title at the present time, but we're hoping to see them sometime before the end of the year. A deluxe box set with, say, a plush Mogwai included would definitely have a spot on our Christmas list. We promise to keep it dry, avoid bright lights and never, ever feed it after midnight.

Frys.com now lists Gremlins as well at $22.99. Says unavailable for shipping but store pickup is available (none of the stores by me have it of course).

Cool, I'm not planning to watch until closer to Christmas so I'll be waiting for a sale. Weird how we haven't heard a thing from the studio...

I'm a little worried there hasn't been much said of this and now it's just spring ing up at Target. I hope the PQ/AQ are up to snuff, and some new extras would have been nice. I'll wait to bitch until I read a review, though. Def want a copy asap.

It's been mentioned in other threads before, but Target has a 90 day return policy...it quite possibly could be put on sale for less sometime during the next three months...if you just keep an eye out for it, then you could theoretically re-buy it cheaper on sale sometime before the end of the year and return it with your original receipt....

This doesn't mean Target will be the only place EVER selling Gremlins...as with those I just mentioned at BB, this is merely going to be a timed exclusive....Target will get a few weeks (or more) to sell this particular title earlier than everyone else...if you don't want to buy it from them now, keep waiting for the general retail release and then go to the store/site of your choice....

I wouldn't mind picking these up but I guess I am going to have to wait a while until another retailer sells them.

He's HORRIBLE. Howie doesn't actually get what a commentary is, thinking that people are putting on the movie to watch it and instead hear his voice over it. (It's actually a great track overall, but it's mostly the Joe-and-Zack Show.)
