Got mine today. Nice set, but I'm going to have to find custom covers for all the movies since the packaging isn't so great

Re: The Mel Brooks Collection: 12/15!!!!!!

Started making my way through this set last night. Watched "The 12 Chairs" which I had never seen before and I enjoyed it. Pretty silly, but fun. Langella was great.

Got through "Blazing Saddles" last night also, which is the only film in the set I've seen. It still holds up even if a couple of the gags are a little cheesy. Very enjoyable.

Can't wait to watch the rest.

VideoETA is reporting a 10/5 release date for this set. New version without the deluxe packaging, perhaps?

I might actually prefer that, in which case I'd likely sell my current set and go for something I actually can put on my shelf. Right now I'm not even sure how to store the set. It's nice, but I just don't know where to put it...

I just put the movies in the individual cases, and printed out covers for them. Of course, the only problem is I was only ever able to find covers for Spaceballs and Blazing Saddles, so I still have a bunch of blank cases on my shelves.

History of the World Part 1, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and High Anxiety have been reissued seperately. The art should be easy to find for those three. In terms of the other films in the set, I'm not sure when they will actually be released seperately.

I know they've been issued separately, as has Young Frankenstein, but I have not had any luck finding the art. Do you know this for a fact, or are you assuming they would be easy to find because they've been released?

I have it on the top of my shelf, with Showgirls, Paul Newman, and similarly shaped sets. Lame...
