Although I'd love to own several of these in the set, if I put this on my Christmas list that will probably be it, so I'll have to see what else is coming out before I decide what to do.

Box looks similar to size and design to the Planet of the Apes blu-ray collection from Fox.
My disc went quickly into a case with custom cover, and once I read the included hardback book, the book & box went into storage....
IF I get this Brooks set, I imagine doing a similar thing.

I think it's funny that 20th Century Fox licensed a single movie from MGM for this set, and they used a photo from that and not one of theirs.

Awesome i can not wait for this to hit the shelves, Iam a big mel brooks fan, and will pre order this ASAP.
its cool that WB has once again permited fox to include blazzing saddles(just as in the standard dvd set a few years ago) hopefully wb on there own will put out a Bluray of Dead and loving it and hopefully the original producers and life stinks will find there way to high def soon as well.
and i love the packaging very classy.

I already own Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles on BD and all of these on DVD. It would be nice to get the set, but it will have to wait for a major sale.

I just watched Silent Movie for the first time before I got rid of my DVD set, and I didn't really care for it. So I'll just hold out for a separate High Anxiety release since I have all the others from the set I want on BD.

Is this info right? They are actually not just using the pre-existing Warner disc for Blazing Saddles, but actually making a new pressing with a DTS-HD MA audio upgrade?
Too bad you have to buy the whole box set if you wish to hear farting in lossless....

Finally upgraded my DVD set to the Blu-ray set today. The book they include is really nice. Watched Spaceballs which is not that impressive in HD, but hopefully the rest of the set is worth the upgrade.

So this is $55.99 at BestBuy.com today only, and I have about $15 in gift certificates. The only Mel Brooks film I've ever seen is "Blazing Saddles," which I thought was pretty great. I'm on the fence about blind-buying this entire set. Somebody convince me one way or the other. Am I going to enjoy these films as a general fan of comedy? I guess I'm most worried about them feeling stale or outdated, and since I have no nostalgia towards them, I may not like them.

Big fan of Young Frankenstein and The Twelve Chairs--don't know if I've seen Blazing Saddles all the way through. The others I either haven't seen or am not thrilled with.

I've watched almost the entire set and I think most of it holds up very well and is still extremely funny. Young Frankenstein is one of the greatest comedies ever made, Silent Movie and High Anxiety are great loving spoofs of their genre and Spaceballs is cheesy, but I have always loved it.
To me History of the World doesn't hold up very well and I've never liked Robin Hood Men in Tights much. I did enjoy 12 Chairs and To Be or Not to Be, but they are not as funny as some of Mel's best movies.
Spaceballs I though looked good, but not great. However, the rest of the collection looked excellent in Blu-ray and was a pretty big improvement over the DVDs. The set is well worth $90 especially with the really nice book that is included, but for $55.99 it is a complete steal.

Ordered from Amazon! Thanks for the heads up. I've actually only seen about half of these, but to me that alone justifies the $55 price tag. (Probably couldn't justify more, though.)

I ordered another one. I'll just return it when I get it on my $90 order. Can't believe this dropped in price a week after I ordered it.
