My personal experience has been the scenario where I rent and then buy is a lot less frequent than I rent and I'm glad I didn't buy.

This just happened to me with Away We Go. Love Krasinski, love Mendes and was planning to blind buy. Forgot I had it at the top of my Netflix queue so it mailed to me before I bought. Very glad I didn't blind buy that one.

I blind bought TrT partually because of all the love and partially because I thought it woudl be hard to get from Netflix. Moot point now. I paid about $26 out of pocket for the BD and sold it for $21, so costs me about $5 plus fees to see the movie. I guess I can live with that.

Re: Trick 'r Treat - October 6th!

I rented this movie through Netflix, and I enjoyed it, but I don't plan to buy it. There were some clever "tricks," but now that they've all been revealed, I don't think the film would have the same impact. Also, I generally prefer films with tight storylines. I've never been a big fan of films that weave together separate stories.

Re: Trick 'r Treat - October 6th!

I thoroughly enjoyed this as it catered to my favorite holiday very well. I barely read anything about it, just that it was hyped up. In the end if the studio just released this in theatres last year, it would've done pretty well and I could've had it at home much earlier than now. All in all I thought it was a great little Halloween flick. My fiance didn't like it that much though, she it a 'meh' when I asked her thoughts on it.

WB Customer Service finally responded to my email. Looks like it's fixed now. Just entered my code. One more to go.

I saw this and it was okay, but the part about the bus and the mentally handicap children really disturbed me. I have a niece who is mentally disabled and that part just made me sick to my stomach.

Most likely the reason this never made it to theaters.

Re: Trick 'r Treat - October 6th!

Did anyone buy Trick r' Treat on Blu-Ray that isn't going to use the $25 Gift code for the 15" Sam figure? I would be greatly appreciative if I could get a code from someone. I don't have a Blu-Ray player yet, but I really want to order the Sam figure from Sideshow Collectibles. Thanks for your help.

Re: Trick 'r Treat - October 6th!

is that coupon in all blu-ray for this movie? Is it only valid as Sideshow Collectibles official site?

I may have to buy the bluray to get this, although it looks like it is out of stock at the site.

I threw this in with the kids last night (relax, they're teenagers) to prime us for the upcoming Halloween season. This movie is to Halloween what a Christmas Story is to Christmas. A lot of fun indeed!

You can't prove that I ever touched your mother.

But I can't believe I missed that thread.

EDIT: It turns out I've actually posted in that thread and voted against A Christmas Story to boot.

My family really loves A Christmas Story. It's been a tradition every Christmas to watch it and it's funny every time. And how about that Trick 'r Treat movie!

Re: Trick 'r Treat - October 6th!

The one thing I never got about Trick 'r Treat was what the difference was between
Spoiler:
the handicapped children drowning and starving to death. They were locked into their seats with just one piece of candy each for sustenance, so were we to assume the bus driver had been paid to leave them there to slowly die from hunger? If so, drowning would actually be preferable.

My take on that was that
Spoiler:
they died from the crash, or possibly drowned. We're never really told anything except that they are dead. The bus driver must have lived because he was wearing his seat belt possibly. As far as the candy, I think it was just a Halloween offering.

Re: Trick 'r Treat - October 6th!

Spoiler:
Right, but wouldn't they have died anyway? Weren't they brought there to die regardless, making the bus's plunge dramatically pointless?
