The Amazon listing has this for the studio: Umvd/Visual Entertainment (who?)
They own the US home video rights to the full cut?

Yeah, that would make sense. Both films are about 90ish minutes right? I guess a 3 hour+ film with DTS MA could fit on a BD50. But I doubt we will get the 'Clean' version of Planet Terror on Disc 1 (Maybe Disc 2?)

It certainly wouldn't be the first 3 hour film with lossless audio on a BD-50. It's also scope, and that makes it more efficient to compress.
I'm expecting that to remain exclusive to the Planet Terror BD.
Grindhouse has different cuts of each movie and several additional spoof trailers that aren't on either of the current discs. The two discs packaged together wouldn't be Grindhouse. Edgar Wright said a short while back that he'd just recorded commentary for the Don't trailer, and that's not on either of the existing discs.

Finally we get the real Grindhouse. Saw this twice in theaters....bought the DVDs of the two releases, but like others I held off on the BDs for this.

$13.99 is a great price for "two films". I paid about $11 for each of the individual BD releases, so I'll stick with those and pass on this one, even it if is the 3 hour theatrical release. Not to mention I also have the steelbook DVD releases and the special Best Buy outer box for storing them both.
Aside from the missing trailers between Planet Terror and Death Proof, is there anything else missing from the films that were individually released that was in the theatrical Grindhouse?

The stuff that was added for the already existing blu-ray/dvd made it fell like a completely different movie

We're definitely getting new extras, but as far as the extent of them goes, I have no idea. A new 10 minute cooking school segment and audio commentaries are definite. The Japanese DVD set included a panel from the 2006 Comic Con, some making-of/interviews about the spoof trailers, another Tarantino interview, and probably some other small odds and ends. Presumably these will be on the new BD set too.

I have them on BD, but both are still unopened. Hmmm... I think I might keep them and get the special edition. I like the "clean" version of Planet Terror and the extended version of Deathproof was good too. At $14 though, this is a no brainer.

Seems too good to be true, but I pre-ordered anyways. Hopefully it comes out.

Well considering that earlier this year RR was working on all new special features for GRINDHOUSE, and that Edgar Wright just recorded an audio commentary for the "Dont" trailer. Its safe to say that its indeed the double feature special edition everyone has been waiting for.
and at that 13.99 price at amazon right now you just cant beat that
