I'm something of a broken record in this regard, I realize, but can I expect to see Streetwise released within the decade?

Norm!

Not that it answers your question, but it is currently streaming on The Criterion Channel. I recently watched it, along with the follow-up Tiny:The Life of Erin Blackwell.

I was kind of disappointed with the follow-up, but I suppose it was true to its title. Just not nearly as interesting as Streetwise.

Big Dylan fan, but the extras looks slim to me. I would have purchased it if it had a complete extra Blu-ray of every available performance from this tour/ Renaldo & Clara. I've seen clips of songs like "Sara" that didn't even make it to the documentary.

Thanks, andicus! I haven't seen it, but Tiny is the one who ended up with 10 kids or something, no? I would be more interested in a follow-up that revisited all of the kids, and maybe even some of their old haunts, which have probably long since become gentrified.
I know one of the girls, the leather-clad butch, was stabbed to death in 1985 when she tried to intervene in a fight. Another girl became a victim of serial killer Gary Ridgway. I suspect the life paths of the others were scarcely less bleak.

Yes, she had 10 kids and most of the second film concentrated on them. I would have much preferred a more in-depth look at all the other kids, as well.

I didn't realize one of the girls (it was Roberta) was a victim of Gary Ridgway. I don't recall them mentioning her in the follow-up. I could have missed it.

There was an unfortunately long (9 person) "In Memory Of" section during the end titles.

Anyway, while disappointing I think it is still worth watching if you like the original film.

Minding The Gap,is a pretty cool movie but not one I need a Criterion Blu Ray of. Most of the footage was shot with cheap video cameras. Well worth watching though. It streams on Hulu.

I agree. It’s on CBC Gem in Canada.

Yea, that was a great movie. I just don’t see the point of owning documentaries.

I've never seen this one, but a good documentary is like any other good film - it's not just about any revelations you learn about, but how they're presented. I've watched many of the old Star Wars documentaries many times, because they're so well done.

I didn’t say I wouldn’t rewatch a documentary I’ve seen. I just don’t need to own them.

Has anyone actually seen Parasite in black and white? I’m sure he has, but what was Joon Ho’s reasoning for this version? Does it do anything to an already incredible movie? I mean I’m glad I have, but not sure if I’d ever watch it. Not sure what the point is when the color variations and aesthetic of the movie with the different classes works so beautifully.

Eh, I’m not going to watch his “vanity” vision thinking that b/w would be the classic version. The color is already on its way...

Can you actually keep comments about the film itself in the proper movie thread? This thread should be about the actual disc presentation and content once its released.

Nah. This is the content that is exclusive to the Criterion version and I think one other foreign release that included it, so I think it’s fine right here. It’s a couple posts anyway based on the new Blu-ray already released. Think it’s just fine right here. You’ll live and it’s pretty proper here.

About damned time for THE PARALLAX VIEW but my gawd that artwork is beyond simplistic. Is that silhouette supposed to be anybody from the film? I realize the original theatrical poster was no classic, but I can imagine plenty of powerful artwork that could really 'sell' a movie like that one.

Bahrani's films are excellent. Too bad they couldn't have gotten GOODBYE SOLO and given him a three-fer.

Couldn’t believe I didn’t have or know about this old Criterion Blu. Such a fun movie and to know Wes’s first. Loved it when I first saw it and still loving it now. Can’t wait to get into extras. Looks good on blu. Very, intentionally colorful. Maybe faces a little too orange.
