YMMV but my equation for upgrading is scaled according to the the quality of the film itself, even if the quality of the presentation is only marginally improved. In this case I think the image quality improvement is significantly noticeable and given that Seven Samurai is one of the best movies of all time, it is well worth the upgrade in my opinion. It looks absolutely gorgeous.

Oh man Rumble Fish is going to be great. Those new interviews sound great and I hardly ever hear from Hinton herself. Be great to see the vintage interviews too...

damn it took a long time to get Francis Coppola on Criterion. Not a lot of the greats left who haven't made an appearence on the label.

I'd shit myself if anything Werner Herzog got announced. He's one of the last hold outs.

TAMPOPO is the big one for me, but I'll probably get RUMBLE FISH and WOMAN OF THE YEAR at the next B&N sale.

I wish he would release the saga cut of The Godfather, that would be a great Criterion, but I suppose Paramount would hold on to that for themselves.

I'm in for Tampopo.

BTW, when is Criterion releasing "Women on the verge of a Nervous Breakdown"?

How is Rumble Fish? I guess I've heard of the movie, but not much about it.
Wish they were doing The Outsiders or Cotton Club instead.
