Interesting choices. I saw Dutch in theaters. Not sure I'd upgrade any of those I own on DVD, though.

So now bluray is gonna go with pointless crappy movies for 2012. I dont know why they cant release all their foreign movies that they have rights to first. It's as if the only american company releasing foreign movie blurays is criterion and kino.

Dutch. Wow. Havn't seen that in years. Used to play on cable all the time.

Who needs Herzog and Bava when we're getting Feldman and Haim?

Ugh. Completely agree. The ONLY film on that last I'd give a shot at on BD (rental first) is "Project X". Everything else is complete crap or close to. I only saw "Project X" because director Jonathan Kaplan made "Heart Like a Wheel". A terrific film. Then went on to direct "Project X", "The Accused", "Immediate Family", "Unlawful Entry" and "Love Field". "The Accused" being the most famous. But the one's I listed being above average movies.

Glad to see that being brought to BD since it's been OOP on DVD for a while now.

totally all over License to Drive and Dutch, but I am disappointed that Only the Lonely isn't on the list. These have been on my wishlist for a few years now.

I bet you are on a short list of those who think they are pointless and crappy. Most if not all of them are opp So I'm glad they're coming to blu.

Interesting set of Warner triple features for 24.98 (1/10/12). Pre-order price is 17.49. I have a lot of the titles already (like Wild Bunch and How the West Was Won but not The Searchers), but I've been holding off on Under Siege for the inevitable two-pack, and now this.

Above the Law / Under Siege / Under Siege 2 (Triple-Feature)
Twister / Poseidon / Perfect Storm (Triple-Feature)
Red Planet / 2010 / Contact (Triple-Feature)
V for Vendetta / Watchmen / Constantine (Triple-Feature)
Seven / Copycat / Taking Lives (Triple-Feature)
Alexander Revisited / Troy / 300 (Triple-Feature)
Point of No Return / Domino / Long Kiss (Triple-Feature)
Friday the 13th / Nightmare on Elm St / Freddy Vs (Triple-Feature)
Searchers / Wild Bunch / How the West Was Won (Triple-Feature)

Wow. Searchers, Wild Bunch, and How the West Was Won all in one triple pack. You usually get one or two great movies and then they throw in a pure crap filler....but those three together is an incredible package for those that don't already have any of them.

But I'm guessing West will be the non-Smilebox version.

According to a member on blu-ray.com, LionsGate will be releasing these titles on January 31:

Cold Mountain, The English Patient, Shakespeare in Love & Frida.

Good stuff. I have the first title in these two. I might just go ahead and re-sell them now though so that I can get the three pack, especially the first one.

Above the Law / Under Siege / Under Siege 2 (Triple-Feature)
V for Vendetta / Watchmen / Constantine (Triple-Feature)
Hilarity, I have all three of each of these two. I should have waited with the Seagal threesome for sure. However, I don't regret getting the second pack individually since each of those movies have been watched at least a few times since I've gotten them.

Is it safe to assume the triple features will be devoid of supplements? Even commentary tracks where applicable?

I'm not going to go on record and say that every pack will be the same but if history has taught us anything about Blu-ray two and three packs, they should be the same discs as the single disc releases. In fact, I would imagine they might just do a triple disc single size blu-ray case, like the ones they use for Dexter (first one that sprung to mind).

Of course then again, maybe WB will set a precedent and start squishing these things :(

Good news: WB is re-releasing Unforgiven next Feb. 21st for it's 20th anniversary as a digibook.

Bad news: it's the same old disc with DD 5.1 audio.

"All 5" is the correct answer.

These are all MGM-controlled titles, and I have no doubt that they'll be released on this side of the border too. I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to line up some kind of temporary retailer-exclusive thing, though.

I'd love to get Notorious (one of Hitchcock's all-time best) and Rebecca. I don't really feel the need to upgrade any Woody Allen DVDs, except maybe Manhattan.

Annie Hall is a very less the ordinary non anamorphic DVD. That is worth an upgrade.

I forgot Annie Hall was non-anamorphic. Looks like an upgrade.

Thanks for the reminder!

Ah...just like Goodfellas.

Still have the two-disc DVDs of both of those, and this news isn't motivating me to upgrade.

The Piano is excellent news. Been waiting for that one for a long time. Can finally dump the non-anamorphic DVD.

The two-disc DVD of The English Patient had a boatload of extras. Hope those get carried over to the BD.
