They are the original theatrical director's cuts. The extended editions that were issued on DVD were not actually approved by Richard Donner.

They should include both via extended branching. Come on, Dubya Bee!

Richard Donner has final say, and he's not allowing the un-authorized extended cuts that were released on DVD.

It's weird that he has final say on the BDs but not the DVDs. Do you know why that is?

I find the whole Lethal Weapon Blu-ray set business confusing. Does anyone have a link to an interview with Richard Donner explaining it? Because I really want the set, but not if it's only an intermediate set between a better, more complete package with better cut's of these films showing up.

When the studios went back to him to do new supplements on the disc, from what I understand, he put his foot down. - Remember, LW 1, LW 2 & LW 3 have never had any supplements, on the original DVD releases or the "Director's Cuts". LW 4 was the only disc that included supplements. - Check the AVS forum thread for the details...

In for both! Just saw All About Eve in the theater yesterday, actually. Arguably the wittiest script of all time.

All About Eve and An Affair to Remember will be digibooks as well. Fuck yes, so glad this caught on at Fox.

Oh, wonderful. I was wondering why those two carried ridiculous $34.99 list prices.

Great to see Singin' in the Rain confirmed. With the DVD going OOP, the Blu-ray should pay for itself. Baby Jane is a trash classic, so I might buy that as well if it's ever $9.99.

I'll be able to sell the OOP DVD for more than I'll have to pay for the Blu-ray.

Big  on both.

I've been waiting for a better edition of Memento (though I highly doubt we'll get packaging that competes with the current LE), and I've loved Last Unicorn since I was a kid.

The HD DVD was a reference quality disc at the time. We'll have to see if the Blu-ray holds up. One of my favourite movies as well.
