I have the Alliance Canadian BD of Mimic and it looks and sounds great so I would imagine the US disc should follow suit.

As far as the Walmart exclusives I'll be picking up Scary Movie 2 & 3, The Crow and Jackie Brown.

Great news, but I'm really sick of this store exclusive shit. Especially since Wally World sucks a big dick in terms of stocking titles.

It doesn't really matter if they have it in a store since after release day you will be able to order the titles from walmart.com for free "site to store" delivery. I've done it and it works fine.

The Alliance Canadian release was pretty good. If the U.S. release is better, I'm upgrading. Great movie!

More MGM/Fox releases for 7/5 up for pre-order. $14.99 at Amazon; $12.99 at Foxconnect. I imagine these will be at $10 or below soon, which would be more appropriate for these type of catalog releases.

I actually liked A Guy Thing although, I realize I'm probably one of the few. Julia Stiles and Selma Blair make a guilty pleasure combination in HD.

Some of those titles are pre-order priced at $9.86. Does WM have a habit of raising 'em just before/after release?

I'd like to pre-order now, but I'll be damned if I'm paying $2 shipping per title.

Hard to say. The May 24th exclusives remain at the pre-order price:
Quigley Down Under (Blu-ray) (Exclusive) $9.86 ($16.99 MSRP)
The Big Country (Blu-ray) (Exclusive) $9.86 ($16.99 MSRP)
(I saw both of these in a store priced at $10 three days ago.)

However, a May 17th exclusive has since risen in price somewhat:
That's What I Am (Exclusive) (Blu-ray) $20.00 ($29.95 MSRP), was $16.86

A lot of this latest slate of exclusive releases have MSRPs of $19.99, so they might get an increase in price eventually. You might want to check on release day and see if "site to store" is activated and jump on it if the price remains unchanged, as is likely.

I'd like Jackie Brown and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World at that price.

Blu-ray.com --

Independent distributors VCI have revealed that they will release on Blu-ray two classic films starring Dirk Bogarde: Ralph Thomas' Campbell's Kingdom (1957) and Agent 8 3/4 a.k.a Hot Enough for June (1964). I'd like to pre-order now, but I'll be damned if I'm paying $2 shipping per title.

FWIW, All the 7/5 exclusive titles are at a $10 price — same as the pre-order price for most of them — and can now be ordered for "Site to Store" delivery with no shipping charge.

It looks like Canada is getting a two-pack of [REC] and [REC] 2:

I've been wanting both of these for a while, so I think I'll have to order this pending reviews.

Seriously? Wow. This is a title I never expected to be on BD at all. There is hope for other less popular catalog titles.

Did this even get a region 1 DVD release? I don't think it did.

Good movie, although not easy to watch.
