In for both Clash of the Titans and Neverending Story - two childhood favourites that I will not hesitate to upgrade. I knew that Clash remake would be good for something

Not "official" but I heard Universal is going to release Tremors on Blu-ray in March to tie-in to the TV series finally hitting DVD. A good match and hopefully it's not the mess that it was on HD DVD.

I hope I don't notice it next time I watch it. I haven't viewed it on my 50" HDTV yet.

Yes, for reals (apparently). Don't know if they will include a DVD, be a 'Combo' or just the BD only.

I just saw them announced for Europe too so if we do get the combos that's the way I'll be going.

We should be seeing a lot more of the HD DVD ports in 2010...not all, but a good chunk. More then 2009 numbers.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Gizmo, Blu-Ray.com has the following on their website:

In an early announcement to UK retailers it has been revealed that Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release 'Elizabeth' and 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age', starring Cate Blanchett as the Virgin Queen, on Blu-ray on March 15, 2010. No specifications, disc configuration or special features are available at this time.

Is the U.S. still getting a February release or does the above apply to both? Thanks.

February date is what I heard and as far as I know it hasn't changed. A push to March may happen though. Universal, ya know?

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Is there any word on Road to Perdition? It's included in a trailer with Fight Club.
Hmmm I assume you have a non-North American Blu-ray of Fight Club? Two different studios here (Fox and DreamWorks). Would be nice to have Road to Perdition though!

^I agree, Road to Perdition is one of my favorite movies and I want to upgrade it to Blu...hopefully it will also have a proper release with some nice featurettes, the DVD is barebones

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

^It has a commentary, deleted scenes with optional commentary, and a photo gallery. I wouldn't call that barebones.

The real problem is that the transfer sucks. I don't remember exactly what was wrong with it, but I think it had that unholy edge enhancement/DNR combo like Gangs of New York. Hopefully that isn't in the master.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

via blu-ray.com forum:

Up for preorder for March 2, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. Said to be released by Vivendi, which recently inked a deal with Genius, which releases Weinstein product, which operates Dragon Dynasty, which released the DVD edition. Would presumably be the first Dragon Dynasty release on BD, and perhaps the first release from this Vivendi deal. Here is to many more following swiftly.

That's probably when they're planning for "The Lovely Bones" to hit home video.

Bingo. I think LOTR was originally going to tie-into District 9 for the Holiday season. Guess not.

Now, where is Meet the Feebles?
