I vaguely remember liking Explorers but I haven't seen it since the VHS days.

Same. I'm afraid it would be on of those movies you have your kid watch with you and halfway through you discover how much racist, sexist, other stuff they put in movies back then.

I remember seeing Grease on the TV at the used DVD store a while back and I was like, "how in the hell did my parents let me watch this? " It's like full of amazing songwriting, but it's dripping* with innuendos and toxic behavior.

*I'm so sorry for that choice of phrase.

What could be wrong with lyrics like this?
With a four-speed on the floor, they'll be waitin' at the door
You know that ain't no shit, we'll be getting lots of tit in Greased Lightnin'

You are supreme
The chicks'll cream

I thought it was funny as a kid and look forward to watching it upon arrival. I like the VHS inspired slipcover as well.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

I saw it when I was browsing Amazon,

They have a bunch of these old movies with VHS retro covers like Babe the John Goodman movie, Who's Harry Crumb, Hardbodies, Opportunity Knocks, Like Father Like Son, Neighbors, and Hudson Hawk.

Just discovered it’s also on Prime in 4k for $13. Oh well I love the movie, might as well pay an arm and a leg.

If you have the 4K version you have the new (most recent) remaster.

These are from Australian label Imprint. Hopefully something is in the works for The Straight Story with a US label.

I believe The Straight Story is owned by Disney in the United States. No chance it gets released or licensed here.

If the movie gets made, it would be a logical tie-in.
