Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

If it's a Mill Creek TV release I strongly suggest waiting until Black Friday. Will probably be dirt cheap.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Yeah, I hit 2-3 times a week. I've moved to streaming for most TV stuff, but I like to know when some older cartoons get announced as those aren't always good candidates for streaming.

Even though convenience-wise it's easier to stream shows on Netflix, Hulu etc. and it's cheaper, I think as long as home media exists, TVShowsonDVD will stay in existence as a news resource.

Fortunately for the home media industry, TV shows along with movies don't have an infinite lifespan on streaming platforms and the contracts/rights expire eventually.

Re: Why isn't TV-on-Blu-ray getting any love?

The first season of Luke Cage is getting a Blu-ray release in Europe. Looks like it's December 7th in Germany and maybe November 27th in the UK. Hopefully this bodes well for an American release down the road, although it'll probably be 2018.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Internationally acclaimed action star, Charles Bronson, is the definitive on-screen “tough guy.” His legendary status was solidified in the midst of his career with a series of leading roles in gritty, crime dramas. This action-packed collection showcases his diverse career with 4 knockout films!

THE VALACHI PAPERS (1972) - The cold-blooded, no holds barred, adaptation of Joseph Valachi's explosive testimony while in prison that exposed unthinkable mob activity in the United States.

THE STONE KILLER (1973) - Crime drama about a tough New York cop who discovers that a gangster is planning a massacre; revenge for a shootout which introduced non-Sicilian elements to organized crime.

BREAKOUT (1975) - A Texas bush pilot is hired by a woman to help break out her husband who is imprisoned in Mexico on a framed charge that was engineered by his Grandfather.

HARD TIMES (1975) - Walter Hill's directorial debut is a raw, bare-knuckled view of street brawlers starring Bronson as a quiet but brutal fighter supported by a chatty and sly promoter played by James Coburn.

Coming April 3rd.

These are 4 rare Bronson movies. $19.98 MSRP. Will probably be $12-15 upon release.

I already have Hard Times, but I'll gladly pick up this set for the rest of the movies. Another Twilight Time title being released again.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Problem Child 2 is coming out on bluray on May 15th. It looks to be another barebones release just like the first movie. These were always favorite movies of mine as a kid. I did a D2D purchase of the movies on VUDU, but I wish Shout Factory could get a hold of them and give us a good release with extras.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

Happy Endings was a pretty funny show but a full series BD release is just odd. I don't get it.

Another early FX show that I for some reason never watched. I'll pick it up when it reaches an agreeable price.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

I enjoyed Rescue Me and watched every episode until the end, but I highly doubt I would re-visit it let alone own the series. IMO it's not the kind of series that has much replay value. If you've never seen it, I would say get it if you can find a price that fits your budget. It's a good mix of serialized drama and dark humor.

What the fuck is taking Scorpion Releasing so long with Shredder? It was announced for late 2018, but there's still no fucking release date.
