There is an outer cardboard slip cover then an inner, harder box. they only want the outer slip cover. the inner box looks basically the same, if not cooler anyway

Yeah, there are still 10 Warner HD DVDs that are not on BD:
Caddyshack
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
Dukes of Hazzard
Excalibur
Forbidden Planet
Grand Prix
Mutiny on the Bounty
Poseidon
Smallville - The Complete Fifth Season
Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

I thought I was down to 5 Warner HD DVDs when looking at the trade-in site, but I forgot about these.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

This is great for me. My Xbox HD DVD drive died some time back and my A3 has been making funny noises lately, so I'm more than happy to trade-in 30+ movies for $5 a pop. I'll probably have to call them about the Matrix set, as I'm sure I don't still have the piece of paper that was glued to the packaging. Doesn't everyone pull those off and pitch them as soon as they open a title?

I save every part of DVD packaging, even the little stickers on the plastic wrap. I cut them out and put them inside the case. Papers like ^ I'll put inside the case as well. Basically, the only thing I ever throw away (recycle), is the clear plastic wrapping.

But then, I'm a freak.

But you'd still have the HD-DVD for when you want the PiP plus the extras in HD on the BR. That doesn't mean it's worth the money to you, but it's not like you lose the capability to play the HD-DVD.

Hmm... the Candian version was much, much cheaper than the US counterpart.

I listed my Ultimate Matrix on half.com for $25 and it sold immediately, so perhaps I underestimated its worth.

You raise a valid point. Are the Harry Potter extras in HD on ALL of the BD's, and on NONE of the HD-DVD's?
What sucks is I don't have the box set. I have the individual titles, so it will cost me $25 to upgrade mine, plus it counts as 5 toward the 25 limit...

I don't think you did. You can buy a brand new one for $22.22 plus shipping from inetvideo right now... That person coulda had a new copy with artwork for less! You priced it about right...

I wonder if they are really going to enforce that 25 title limit rule.

IIRC, it was only a few features on HP5 that were HD on Blu-ray along with an extra fluff documentary. I'm sure you can find some review comparisons on them.

Has anyone spoken to customer service about the 300 included with an A3?

Thanks! You just saved me a few bucks by buying it there as opposed to on ebay!

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

if anyone else is like me and doesn't want to trade the cover art for the 3 matrix HD in for the upgrade on just the confirmation of one person on a message board, I to called and they confirmed that if you send the 3 individual covers in they will upgrade you to the ultimate version on Blu. She said just make a notation that it's the Complete Version Box set.

Has anyone confirmed that Warners actually sends you the complete Blu-ray packaging? My worry is that they'll just send the Blu-ray discs sans boxes.

Maybe they only send you the blu-ray artwork sleeve.

from AVS via HDD

...talked with there support also. The guy said the following:
They are getting lots of calls and positive feedback about the offer
The offer will most likely be good until december so there is no rush
They will be updating the ultimate matrix special instructions because no one has the piece of paper
They will be updating the Oceans 11 box set instructions since the instructions mention a upc code which does not exist
He also said they are adding more titles to the site
He mentioned that they will not be sending the hd-dvd cover art back to you
You will get a brand new shrink wrapped copy of the Blu-Ray
They are doing this to boost Blu-Ray player sales

Good info! After I finish unpacking from my move I'll go through my stuff. Might dabble in a few titles but the majority of my Warner collection will remain Red.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Someone posted on HDD that they are accepting the UPC-less version of 300 packaged with Toshiba HD-DVD players.

Waiting on a response from their CS about my Best of Compilations and the boxes which I've thrown away. I can upgrade the titles individually, but it's going to cost 2x as much and take up 4x the available slots.

Also just read in the normal DVD forum, that sometimes inetvideo sends out bilingual versions. Hope that doesn't happen to me with my HP and Matrix orders.
