I bet their CS people are cursing whoever came up with this promotion, it sounds like they are getting bombarded with calls about it.

I'm sending the sleeve with UPC code. I like to think that's what they mean.

If my g/f can get 18 BDs for about 100 bucks through me, she might just bite on that BD player we've been talking about getting for her place...

That's something I've been wondering about. I'm guessing that the bilingual covers have a different UPC. Would those even be acceptable? Has anyone asked about this?

I've never seen a bilingual cover for a Warner title.

That's a Universal problem for the most part. All my bilingual covers are Universal, and all the ones I've seen in stores are Universal as well.

Usually, the bilingual covers have the same UPC as they're not really meant to be sold in the States.

Well that's interesting. Do they profit directly off of player sales? or are they just doing this for the indirect effect of boosting future disc sales?

That's good news. I'm sending off a UK version of a Harry Potter movie, I hope they take it.

I have three Harry Potter and two Kubrick HD DVDs with bilingual covers. I'll have to check into that I suppose.

I found the paper back cover for my Ultimate Matrix collection, so I'm going to at least exchange that (luckily I don't throw anything away).

I have the Bonnie and Clyde HD DVD but it's one of those Warner "book" sets, with no real sleeve but it does have a paper insert shrinkwrapped to the back with a UPC on it. I'm guessing you would just send that in.

I have the "complete matrix" set, which they are not taking UPC's for, so I'm sending in the cover to The Matrix to get that sweet digibook, at least.

PLUS I hope since they have our email they will let us know when they add more movies to this program. I have plenty more WB movies that aren't on the list yet.

I don't know if you saw or not, but they are apparently accepting the complete set as upgradeable to the ultimate.

wow. I would totally jump in on this. I could do at least two orders.

But... US ONLY

Boo. Even after the exchange rate, this would be a good deal. I wish I had some trustworthy American friends.

According to the FAQ, its a limit of 25 upgrades per household. They provide you with a unique prepaid label so that would be how they track it.

I was told to send in the cover for Matrix Revolutions and that will qualify for the Ultimate matrix upgrade. So i'm sending that in for the UM and the first matrix cover to upgrade that version of the matrix. yes, i will have WAY too many copies of the matrix

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I'm in Canada, but I might try this using a friend in the US. Has anyone asked about sending in bilingual packaging? I know a lot of people in the US got a bunch of HD DVDs when they were cheap in Canada, so I am wondering if anyone asked whether or not the bilingual covers would be an issue. And would there be an issue if I sent the covers from Canada, but got them sent to the US?

Edit: Just read through the rules, and you are given a postage paid printout, so obviously, I can't use that if I am sending from Canada. Maybe I'll have to send the covers to my friend in the US and ask them to do it. From those Canucks that are trying to use this program, is this what your plans are as well?

Hmm thanks for the Matrix info. I've already paid and printed my current send in sheet. If I hear of some successful "Complete" returns I'll send mine in as well. Thanks!

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I wonder if T3 and some of the others will become elligible when/if they are released this year.

I am so happy about the Matrix info as I have the trilogy not ultimate.

More titles will be added (the 10 or HD DVD exclusives if they ever come out and T3). This runs until the end of the year (!).
