I'm in no rush. Plus, pricematching is your friend.

Release day, Columbia House, $5 or less, if you're willing to cycle accounts there.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

I posted this in the VG forum, but the PS3 combo is 49.99. That sounds like "buy a PS3 game, get a Blu-ray movie free," but the 360 version is only 29.99 and the game has gotten mixed reviews (haven't played it myself). Plus factor in BD discounts and it's not quite as attractive as it first seems. Still, interesting concept.

Yeah, this was talked about a while ago and this seems to be the first time this has happened. Interesting concept (since movie games sales typically don't sell a month after its Theatrical release).

^ Yeah, they're always tied to theatrical release, not home video

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

Best Buy seems to be doing the "mask" packaging ala The Dark Knight and Iron Man that Target had. The in-store ad had the options of Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan.

EDIT: Unfortunately Dr. M is Blu-ray, Rorschach is DVD. But it makes sense I suppose.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

what's the deal with the pre-ordering mention in this week's Best Buy ad? I thought it was usually a five dollar down kind of thing - none of the blue-shirts knew how to go about doing this - I don't want to pay for the whole amount cause I have two 5 dollar certificates I'd like to use.

Late chiming in but if you buy it through the Xbox Marketplace it's only $20.

So for comparison's sake you're looking at a $20 game and a $30 BD. Not too hot.

You can also get a set of Watchmen buttons (6 of them, each featuring a cast member) if you pre-order from BB.

I saw them today - would have taken a picture, but my cell phone camera is broken.

That's cool. And I really, really want to punch your avatar/icon in the face.

Seriously, he just looks like a douchebag.

Yeah, a lot of people want to do that to the Avatars I chose. I have another I'd like to use but I'm sure the mods would suspend me for choosing that particular person

Would that be Warner's first DTS-MA bluray?

Yeah - likely due to at the request of the Director though. It's not norm (especially with other Warner titles announced with TrueHD). The slip cover is lenticul. Here's a scanned picture we did:

That gives me hope for Peter Jackson and Lord of the Rings when they make it to bluray. He can probably get Warner to go with a DTS-MA track for all three films, I don't care about the TE blurays but when the EE mke their bluray debut hopefully they will get a 7.1 mix.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

kind of tacky that the presell 5 dollar down at Best Buy's are subjective to sales tax. I guess I can look at it as 'hey six buttons for 29 cents!'

And TrueHD is capable of 7.1 (one of the CES Demos has 7.1).
