Yeah, that does work sometimes. Sometimes they dont have them out or even in the computer as being on sale. I complained once on some DVD that wasnt showing up as being on sale and they couldnt update the prices till 8am when the dept manager came in. Most of the its just the Union City walmart that pisses me off.

Anyone know of a cheaper way to get the Best Buy Watchmen Directors Cut Blu-Ray in Dr. Manhattan case cheaper than $34 (or whatever their in-store price is)? I'm going to try to use one of those USPS Movers Guide 10% off coupons, but I don't have hope it will work. Not good on DVDs.

there's no difference in the disc between the regular BD and the Dr. Manhattan version, right?

should I get the Dr. Manhattan mask packaging to go with my Dark Knight and Iron Man's? Or just say fuck it and save 10 bucks?

I can't justify spending $10 on a case

Personally, I only bought the mask for The Dark Knight because I had the Batman Begins Limited Ed. abnormal package. I'll be buying the standard Watchmen BD.

I'd say fuck it, as it doesn't seem like a great way to keep the discs and I hear the lenticular cover is awesome.

I also don't get why Best Buy is offering the Black Freighter or the Motion comic DVD only instead of giving customers that buy the Watchmen BD get the option to get either supplementary set on Blu-ray too.

If I were going to get special packaging I'd get the Amazon set.

Damn, that is pretty sexy. Somehow I hadn't heard about that until your post. But $75 is rough.

Admit it though... Batman, Iron Man, and Dr M. all staring back at your on your shelf could be pretty cool.

I'll make the final call when I make it to Best Buy earlier this evening. Thanks for your opinions guys.

With a price match to Frys at $20.77 it is a pretty hard sell to me to spend almost double for the special packaging.

Picked up the Dr. Manhattan Mask and should have the Owl Ship shipping soon.

Fry's had it in their ad today for a new price $20.29. Pricematching this new price today at BB.

Why does WB insist on using these 3 disc cases that are obviously flawed and break?

Those are extremely flimsy. I decided to get this today at BB. I shook the case and it didn't sound like anything was broken. Luckily, when I opened it, the holders for the tray weren't broken, but a piece at the bottom inside was. I wish they would make those a little more durable.

These are the Elite brand. I've encountered 4 or 5 different kind of broken pieces in these type of cases. Kinda annoying. I have plenty of spare blank cases, but they're the other kind with the latch. No 3-disc replacements exist as of now. Even though the Digital Copy is useless after you use it, I still like my discs all together. Darn OCD.

Now I have two reasons to worry if I order it from DeepDiscount. The first being the condition of the slipcover.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

The Future Shop Steelbook holds the two discs while putting the digital copy in a paper sleeve, which I think is the way to go, since that disc is useless once the code is redeemed - I think all digital copies should come that way.

The movie looks and sounds fantastic but the extras are light. The second disc isn't very good at all and 2 out of the 3 featurettes I will definitely never revisit. The maximum movie mode is cool but I think it needed more Snyder, either in video form or have him do commentary in the gaps between stuff... also, from what I've seen of the Focus Points, they just seem to be the web diaries that I've already seen (I only watched 1 hour of this mode so far). So at least WB nailed the presentation but really the only meat of the set is on the first disc.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

I end up using the digital copy and trashing that disc, then switch cases with a 2 disc set that now only has 1 due to the digital copy getting tossed. The single disc goes into the 3 disc case and I trash the broken insert.

Just received the Amazon special edition. It's nice, not sure worth $75, $50 more like it. It is all plastic, the only problem I have is when you light it up and look at it straight the light seeps through the seams where the plastic connects.

Arrived in the mail today, watching it now. It looks fantastic, as it should. Does anyone else find the dialogue to be mixed a little low on the track?

Also, it was nice to see that WB is offering $10 off the Ultimate Edition for people who buy this edition. Of course you have to buy it from WB.com, but it's still a nice touch.

Speaking of the WB Shop, has anyone else received your copy if you pre-ordered it from there? I pre-ordered a month ago and it still says, "In Process." Emailed about it his afternoon and haven't heard anything. Hoping to get it by Sat. to check out the BD-Live feature but, we shall see...

The detail on this disc is fantastic. You can see the motion of Dr. Manhattan's eyes even in the longer shots. Really well done.

Re: Watchmen: 7/28/09 (?)

I thought the dialogue was a little low but my sound system sucks balls right now, so I thought it might just be me.
