Does the Best Buy Watchmen Directors Cut Limited Edition Blu Ray (Dr. Manhattan case) have any extra content that is NOT on the regular Blu Ray Director's Cut? The price is $10 higher, so I thought maybe there was more to it than just the special packaging.

Good to know.

Walmart usually puts their new releases out at midnight.

Wish they would do that around here. I have gone at 7 am and 8 am and nothing has been put out ever. Its usually sitting on a cart and out by noon on Tuesdays.

On a side note... Fry's just advertised the BD of Watchmen for $20.77 on Tuesday. Time for pricematch!

Lately, Fry's has been killing Best Buy and other store in new media prices - I think it's because without Circuit City, the other guys aren't bothering with having lower prices like they used to, and aren't really aware of Fry's since there's not too many of them around.

:brickwl2: I love Fry's, but I really wish they would expand more (specifically OK). Witch CC out of business, they could take advantage of things right now with this aggressive pricing. I went to several different locations this summer when I was out of town and I already miss them haha.

You certainly aren't missing anything by not getting the game.

Well, BestBuy.com has it for like $22.99 right now and you can do in-store pickup. Damn good price on it! Still no Best Buy ad for that week so it may or may not stay that price...but no harm in ordering it.

Yeah but I can get it cheaper at Target with the $5 coupon in the mailers they sent out though for $20.99. If BB has it cheaper in the printed ad, even better.

Just picked the BD of Watchmen up. Went to Zia Records over lunch to look for For All Mankind. They didn't have it, but they did have Watchmen out a few days early (as well as the 300 reissue and Coraline). It was $26.99, but I got it for half off due to Zia points. Looking forward to the extended cut tonight.

Which Zia did you end up going to? I actually have a slew of Zia points plus credit at the moment.

I liked this movie, and would buy it, but this directors cut is just to damn long. I don't have that kind of time or patience really. I just can't see myself getting to many repeated views out of a three hour film. I dunno, maybe i'll pick it up sometime later down the road.

The one on Eastern and Flamingo. All Watchmen merch is additionally 50% off and you can get a poster for $2 if you purchase the DVD or BD.

They weren't being secretive about breaking street date either. There was a poster on the door advertising that the Watchmen Director's Cut was available inside. Instead of going straight to the Criterion section for For All Mankind, I bee-lined to the new release section.

Kinda glad they broke street actually. I would've ended up getting it at Best Buy on Tuesday, and I have 0 interest in the Dr. Manhattan head.

Sucks for the east coast but it's optimized for attendees since it's part of the usual Nighttime Programming and that's where they tend to put stuff like this.

Picked up the last copy of the BD at Zia.

Started watching the Maximum Movie Mode at 2pm and I had to stop it since I'm about to meet some people from dinner. If you select all the focus points and still galleries, this is an experience that'll last you close to four hours once all is said and done. A lot of informative material, but I'm disappointed with the lack of walk-ons with Snyder. His walk-ons are very frequent at the beginning of the flick, but come far few and less between as the movie continues leaving it more like a regular IME.

Just watched it for the third time today, the stellar reviews were right. The audio is fantastic, the transfer is beautiful, and the extended footage helped make an okay movie into a great movie. It's still not a perfect movie translation of the comic but it's the closest it could be without turning it into a mini-series.

FYI, the DTS-HD MA track is mixed at the level of a Dolby TrueHD track. Don't lower your receiver by 4dB as you would normally do for a DTS track.

It might be even better once the Ultimate Edition arrives, that's why I'm waiting. If not I can always pick up the DC then.

I rented the DC. I didn't buy it. I'm waiting to see the Ultimate Edition. Still, the DC was a much more satisfying experience than the Theatrical Cut.

Just ask someone if they'll grab you a copy from the back. It's the release day. They shouldnt have a problem with it.
